yeah, she's upset with zip code increases and using credit scores for rates. She'll get heat and her veto could be over ridden

I’m skeptical about this for only one reason: If reform is so good for Michigan drivers, why didn’t republicans pass anything in the eight years it had control of everything? It would’ve been way easier for them to get everything they wanted in a bill, and Dems would’ve been powerless to do anything about it. Instead, nothing gets done until Whitmer is in office.

According to what I read, Gov Whitmer and her team insisted on dropping rates on multiple parts of policies and are stopping insurance companies from jacking rates once your healthcare flips to Medicare the way they have in the past.

In 8 years all State Senate majority leader Arlan Meekof wanted was to eliminate the lifetime medical covereage with zero guarantees from the insurance companies that change would reduce premiums.

Pretty wild our car insurance rates are higher than Louisiana which is both hurricane and tornado prone,  and it's biggest city is mostly below sea level.
