What isn't accurate? That a parent might see it differently than a random internet message board guy? And 99% of what cases?
Any parent is going to look at the experience player/kid #1 had, when they consider whether to send player/kid #2 to a school.
i don't think message board posts matter to parents in 99% of cases, likely because they're never seen.
Not according to what 3 D1 football players parents told me in the last 12 -18 months. They may not seek things out but family, player friends and influencers like HS coaches do.
DWags nailed it about parents being a helluva lot more sensitive than many here think when it comes what people say about your child.
You can be critical of a performance or a tendency like a a 4 or 5 struggling with double teams or even this thread wondering how much Loyer will score when there is a 40 point handicap compared to Hoiberg.
There are posters on other boards that have relentless regarding Loyer. A lot more than fan’s “observations”.

A few have vaporized when they were exposed.
Some of the Loyer critics have crossed the line multiple times and they are still around spouting venom. If 247 won’t put them on the sidelines then expose them.
That’s my “free speech”. When exposed they whine it isn’t right because in their heads signing a National Letter of Intent to play football or basketball at a major university makes every kid on scholarship fair game. It shouldn’t.
No idea what the angry 20 is, but if you do any doxxing on this forum and Heat learns about it, you’ll be saying goodbye to tSwill permanently, and rightfully so.
This thread is weird.

JFC. I made the name up. I like to poke the monkeys over there. I really believe there are about ten to fifteen posters over there who make that place miserable. So I was gonna say the angry ten but I thought of a ten inch penis. I went with the angry 20. Some guy named Willie Soak and Martin Spartan and I think Cement and maybe one or two more we’re pissed about it and started using “mediocre 4”. So I have no idea if it’s catching on. But I really do think there can be ten to 20 posters on a board that choose to go way beyond the colloquiums of give and take, get personal with you, the university the players and coaches and just dominate it and make it miserable for everyone.
Anyway, this board was dead for a while, I poked the monkey cages over there. I’m done now. Hope the term carries on over there. But that’s what I meant by it. The end.

It's evolved into a thread about social media on, well, social media.
And like a lot of what goes down on social media is bound to piss some people off. Hell, I was told to fuck off because I semi-quoted Izzo and mostly agreed.
Kids, their parents and in this case a coach hear what people are saying. It's pretty easy to say they should just ignore it or grow a pair. Human nature says that it's difficult to do.

Re: Jack Hoiberg > Foster Loyer
Loyer 88 pts played 26 games and averages 8.3 minutes per game.
Hoiberg 15 points played 12 games played averaged three minutes per game
I’d argue had as many minutes and games I don’t think I’d be losing my +40 prop bet.

Has Hoiberg really played against the same competition Steve? I’m not saying he’s a big step down from Loyer but let’s be realistic about who those guys are playing against.

Not really moved on the feel good stories where the walk on kid with the really rich parents gets a scholly. Feel this is like when Dakich got the scholarship at U-M.
Happy for them though. Keep grinding.

Agree 100%, but without a scholarship, there are certain parts of being on the team he couldn’t take part in. It can’t help with overall team cohesion when a couple of the guys are outsiders.

Izzo on the best point guard since Skiles. Foster Loyer:
“He’s improved. He really has,” Izzo says. “The players have warmed up to him like nobody’s tomorrow. He knows everything and he’s starting to be able to handle it like high school again. Right now he makes the right decisions and doesn’t miss a shot. I think you’re going to be surprised.”

Okay, I'll say it I call BS on Loyer being vastly improved. He's too short and won't be open to hit those shots. I think Izzo is just a very loyal dude and playing the 'long' game by staying on the good side of that coach from clarkston so he can get future recruits. That's smart.

He's a smart kid and kids tend to get better under Izzo. I think he will be a valuable contributor this year and especially next year, I'm just not sure he's a point guard. What he was really good at in high school was finding ways to score, despite being overmatched physically. I assumed he would find a way to adjust against better competition and I suspect he will. If he doesn't I will forever wear the shame of being wrong on an internet message board. It would be the 2nd worst thing that's ever happened to me.

Maybe Izzo recruited him so he could say he was actually taller than a captain he had on the basketball team.

Re: Jack Hoiberg > Foster Loyer
So we've seen him get stepped on, ran over, blown by repeatedly....
I think a couple things that would make him serviceable would be:
1) he is able to bring the ball up the court without a turnover....(period)
B) Force someone to hang out on the perimeter with him (not be great, but keep them honest)
Lastly) Foul HARD when getting burnt. No more "pick on the short white guy"... They are shooting on you, punch them in the elbow... Burnt on the perimeter, body foul as hard as possible for a 5' 9" white guy... Just be a dick like the annual white guy on Duke.
5 fouls and the other stuff = enough to free up Rocket to be off the ball scoring god.
