I stuck with the Freep the whole time. Pretty happy with my time line, the accuracy of information and a story was there for me when I woke up. I suspect that Hondo wasn't the "first".. I doubt that Beekman called Hondo on the way home from Boulder or wherever to make sure it was okay with him if MSU hired Tucker.

Hondo has someone inside the Athletic Department or the charter service MSU uses leaking travel plans and his stalking of recruiting targets shouldn’t happen.

I watch Curb Your Enthusiasm.  How much good does it do MSU with minority recruits when a hump like Hondo shows up and he has photos of himself in his Trump hats on his web site.

100% this (well, not sure about the Kroger part, but the rest). He was just the first to go to the open public with it, with less confirmation than others were willing to do. Let's be honest, he has a long history of that, so he doesn't really care if he's wrong. But credit still goes to him in this case for being the one to break it, though I wouldn't say he got the "scoop" (at least to me, that implies being the first to know, special insight, etc.).
