Not sure which one I tried playing on XBox, but the controls were all complicated and I gave up about 5 minutes in.

Kind of like the boat. Looks fun, but not very effective. Especially in solo. Kind of hard to fly standing on the landing skid firing a rifle.

I’ve logged about 48 hours into it in a month and I think I’m just now starting to get a handle on how to play, and that’s on the relatively easier modes

I've played two games so far. First one was just trying to understand the basics. 2nd game I fared a bit better, but I screwed up by trying to do a bit of everything. Oh I want a big army. Oh I want the Eiffel Tower. Oh I want to spread the religion of Pylon.  Next thing i know the Germans are launching a rocket to space while I'm learning how to make a musket.

I’m going for a religious victory for the first time right now, so far so good. I think Russia is my favorite to use so far, especially early on, just because the cities you create with them are significantly larger than the other countries which is helpful for resources and such

Oh also you want to plan your cities such that you can eventually build the Venetian arsenal... It gives you bogo on naval ships and even if they’re just sitting there defending it makes invading you that way impossible.

We have reached the extent of what I have learned in 48 hours of gameplay.

Really enjoying tiger woods 13 on the 360. Grew up playing these golf games. Relaxing and can be a challenge. Putting can be hell.

In around 2014 my young nephews demanded I play it with them, so I did. Then I said “okay what do I do?” And they said “you should build spartan stadium.” So I started. And then it seriously snowballed on me and it was all I did for awhile. I finished it, and it’s very impressive, but I don’t think I can ever play the game again.

I’ve been playing a lot of civilization vi lately but that’s a computer thing and not on consoles.

Do you have pics of your virtual Spartan Stadium?

My kid plays a lot of this with his friends on his school issued iPad. He likes to kill witches and stuff. He showed me a tower he built that was like a couple of thousand feet tall that he would just push people off of. Really productive use of school resources.

I’m embarrassed by how much time I spent on this.


You’ll notice that the outside is kind of floating. If I were to do this again, which I will absolutely not, I would have dug the field in. I didn’t realize just how much time I would end up wasting on this when I started but when I realized it was too late to fix it
