Just picked up a pizza at the St John's Jets. Stopped to get it and 6 people crammed into the lobby, only one with a mask. I had the wife call them and bring it out to us.

I’m surprised. Most jets I’ve seen have offered curbside pick up.

I was pretty disappointed last week when we ordered jets. It wasn’t their day. Everything wasn’t right somehow and it was just ok.

Ours wasn't very good either, my wife ate hers but I had one piece and threw the rest out.

It was only a 4 corner pizza so not a whole lot of authority was required.

Pizza is excellent.  No Detroit style...just round.  Puddles of oil in the curled up pepperoni.  Salads are good too.

Alibi use to be a shitty old bar with great pizza.  Was so close to Rochester Road you had to be very careful walking out of it  or you'd be in the road.  Old place got torn down and they rebuilt what you see now.  Could walk there from my old home.

Got the Molcajete from Cancun here in Okemos, steak, chicken, shrimp, and chorizo sausage with jalapenos and nopales. Rice, beans, pico, lettuce, sour cream and guac on the side. I get extra flour torts and we are in business. It's pretty tasty shit but got me sweating while eating it tOfficial Takeout Thread - Page 3 4198636888

Very good but the wait to pick it up cooled it off too much. Was probably out of the oven a half hour before getting it home. Gonna get into the Greek salad and ribs tomorrow.

tOfficial Takeout Thread - Page 3 20200510

They have you drive to the carryout side of the building to check in, then drive around to the main door for pickup. If it was up to me I'd have set it up opposite so all communication and delivery was through the passenger side of the vehicle, like they do at Lucky's.

Looks good! The owner has been posting on Next Door a bit about their plans. I have no idea why they haven't adopted the online/Doordash model. It has been suggested to her and she has been shrugging it off saying she has 'heard bad things'. I get that, there are bad experiences, this is a new technology. I ordered Door Dash from Buddy's on Mother's Day and it was 2 hrs late, but that's not the fault of the service. I'm glad they're opened back up and it seems like a really popular place. They definitely have one of the most unique, best, round pizzas in town.

Been checking nextdoor and posts from Cindy. Was how I discovered Alibi was back in the game.

Every delivery screw-up I've encountered was the direct result of DoorDash, Grubhub, SnappyEats, Seamless fucking up my order when relaying it to the restaurant. Delivery is ass-backwards IMO.

I did contactless pickup from Buddy's in Shelby Twp last night. I hadn't had Buddy's in a few years. That pizza was lit. The pickup process was pretty good, but a little confusing because they had two sections with parking spots marked Pickup 1, Pickup 2 etc. You pull into line, tell them your order number and they assign you a spot. I get assigned Pickup 6, pull forward and see slots 1-5. Where the f is 6? Oh it's in that other section with spots 1-8. OK, that's wrong, they needed to mark them 1-8 and 9-15. It seems like one of the sections was for delivery drivers and the other was for phone/web orders. It was organized, just not optimized.

Alibi's Greek salad/dressing has always been good. First time trying their ribs...very disappointing. They must boil or braise them because the meat is almost mushy. Should have only got a half rack.

I read an article the other day that said the fees that some restaurants have to pay for door dash and other delivery apps just don’t make it worth it.

You definitely pay for the convenience. They fee you up the ass, which doesn't included the actual delivery charge and tip. Delivery charge through Doordash ranges from free to $7 depending on the restaurant, so I generally go for the free ones.

Terry’s Terrace. Daughter wanted their French onion soup wife the lobster bisque we got som broccoli dish Cajun steak bites and fish tacos. Two small salads. Between the four of us just share a bit of everything except the soups. 60 bucks plus trip. Get home, no French onion soup.

Fuck. Drove the four miles back. Got it and they took it off my bill. Pissed as hell.

I’ve done it plenty of times. But I guess it’s been really eating into mom and pop restaurants. So that’s why they’re less likely to use them.

Friend mine had to talk the owners out of that belief at the restaurants he manages. The fees are pretty high but you just raise the prices in the app. If people don't want to pay them it doesn't cost you anything. His revenues now are way up as is his bonus. Well, pre-RonaTime anyway.
