Ouch! UnderArmour says it gets no marketing benefit in its apparel deal with UCLA; terminates the contract
The 2016 agreement was reported to be worth $280 million. UCLA says it will look to enforce the contract. It’s a huge public slap in the face for the Bruins.

Unless UnderAmour had performance clauses for specific sports or included agreed upon benchmarks for sales of product they needed to see to continue the contract I hope UnderArmour loses, has to pay UCLA the full contract amount and all of UCLA's legal expense incurs to make UnderArmour live up to its contractual obligations.
To me it says volumes about the character of UnderArmour's CEO and management and its contractual selectivity. Other than founder Kevin Plank wanting to help his alma mater, has Maryland benefited UnderArmour any more than UCLA?

It’s not a very detailed story, but there is a quote from UA saying they were taking advantage of an opt-out clause in the contract. No idea if it exists, especially since UCLA says they’re owed the money. But I agree, if UA is just trying to weasel out of a deal, they should be held accountable.

Cal is nervous about losing their 10 year, $86 million Under Armour deal. It makes a preemptive move and announces it expects UA to maintain its contract.
