Apparently OU does this every year for one non-conference crap game. Not sure how they got the rights from Fox or whoever but here we are.

At that level they do. But getting to that level, like any profession, is not easy. It's a grind. They eat, drink and sleep football 24/7. No thanks.

If I do it 12/3.5, can I get half the money? I'd be fine with that.

If you were Dantonio's offensive line coach, you'd still get full pay.

Expert analysis from Jim Brandstatter on the B1G might have egg on it's face for not playing.

Nice touch wearing the 60th anniversary Big Ten championship hat during an interview lol. Was that their last one?

Last time I checked they are still scheduling and playing cfb games. We can both be right in this case.

Regardless of whether his team was going to play, it shows that college athletes can get this, have it bad, and even die. But sadly, I feel this won't get the attention it deserves since it's a just a D-II school that few people have heard of.

Would be nice if players in all of these conferences that are playing, wear his number on theorbsleeves or helmets or something.

Exactly this. I'm content to watch pro sports where the athletes get paid, and they can set up a bubble. The "amateurism" in college football was a great idea until it wasn't and these days it's a terrible idea.

I agree that amateur athletes shouldn’t be playing. Your post, however, suggests the poor guy died because he was playing the game. Intentionally or not, it’s misleading.

Right, and instead of saying that, you wrote shut it down, implying he died because he caught the virus while playing football. Did you read the article before posting it?

That is a different discussion than what Steve was trying to imply.

And I don't think anyone here was of the belief that college athletes can't get this, have it bad, and even die.

Right, people here know that, I didn't mean to direct that to anyone here, Ibwas speaking more generally.
And granted, most people everywhere know that, as well, but some seem to want to forget it (again, not people here).

Also, we’d all have football right now if we had a coordinated national plan, people wore masks, social distanced, we had testing readily available and we listened to scientists.

Looks like the meat head of the day is Coach Franklin who still has concerns, is confused and doesn’t know what to tell players parents why the Big Ten postponed the season when it did.
