Lightning kept setting off an alert on my phone from the security camera, the thunder wasn't really loud enough to wake me up. I shut the camera off and went back to sleep.

There was quite a bit of thunder and lightning for a few hours. Thankfully, the center of the storm was far enough away that the noise wasn’t horrible. Even my dog made it through the night without needing medication. The rains, though, were furious for a little while, then slow and steady the rest of the time.

It’s on those extra muggy days that Kingston can blame his failing deodorant for why he smells so bad. It’s on the nice days when those around him realize he never actually wears deodorant and always smells hideous.

I get alerts when moths play kamikaze into my security cams. Kind of fun to watch.

Lots of flooding in places where there isn’t usually flooding but otherwise the neighborhood looks mostly fine. The baby did not like all of the thunder though so I didn’t really sleep much so I’m probably going to spend the day yelling at all of you deal with it.

whatever the apartment complex is on Abbot, just north of the fire station - I bet there are about 20 cars underwater. That place is very low-lying already, but 5-6 inches of rain over the span of an hour or two doesn't help.

looked like a mess, but certainly not the first time that place has flooded.

Lost power Tuesday night
Then saw the estimated time jump all day.
First in was 9:30 am Wednesday then 1:30pm Strong winds around 12:30 pm saw 1:30 got bumped to before 5:00pm Friday.

But about 10:30 last night it was back. AC took about 2 hr to get rid of 24 hr of humidity. Life without AC is uncomfortable. Life without electricity just plain sucks.

Neighbor came over and said the lightning I heard hit a cottonwood tree in her backyard. Blew a bunch of bark off it but the tree is still in one piece. She has an app that shows lightning strikes and it was showing a crazy amount in our area.

I'm not sure why someone would have a rain gauge, but he has a PhD in physical chemistry so it seems likely that he would.
