Been a weird pattern in East Lansing. Cold tomorrow, close to 60° on Sunday.

Snowing tonight. Low 60s this weekend.

was close to 60 this past Saturday in East Lansing.. went on a good bike ride. Then this morning, a 4 mile run around the block through snow and ice.

Weekend was a dud. If it hit 60 it was for a millisecond Sat late morning. Windy and felt cold. Did not have a 50s begining of spring day feel. On the bright side, my yard was an ice rink and most of it melted. Still piles of snow. Yard is a muddy mess. Freezing rain all morning. I was dup'ed.

about 3 inches of freshly fallen snow in the rundown projects of East Lansing this morning.. good jog around the block, followed by some shoveling.

We’ve had lots of rain since last night and only a small amount of (thankfully) distant thunder. So far, there hasn’t been a need for the dog to hide behind me on the sofa.

4 inches of rain this month, 2 of those yesterday ...

Worse, the local DTE substation had a "catastrophic" failure, so much so that DTE has been working on it with literally a crew of hundreds of people since 2 AM Tuesday. They are setting up a complex of multiple diesel generators trucks in the parking lot of the local day-care center (it used to be a golf course, so a big parking lot), compete with additional utility poles to run a connection to the main circuit over to them, while also installing a smaller transformer at the substation. Power back on Wednesday night, about 7:30, but they were still working, and it flickered quite a bit. Seems better today, I wonder how long we have local generation.

I was in Bradenton, Longboat Key, Punta Gorda and Sarasota four weeks ago. Temps were in the upper 80s for the entire time. Sarasota is a good airport, has to be better than Tampa.
