Didn’t watch actually. Watched Finding Your Roots and Anderson Cooper. It is my BIL birthday today and he went to Wisconsin so bummer for the Badgers.

Seems like most teams are just checked out for this year and it's a very 'meh' season. UNC, MSU, Kentucky out of the top 25. Duke just lost and probably on the way out of the top 25.

I haven't watched any of their games. I caught a glimpse of them vs Wisconsin back in January. Watched caught the score, saw Michigan was blowing them out and changed the channel.

You'll have to take my word for it I don't listen to him and it's really not that unique of an observation. Regarding the season it feels like the whole thing is held together with duct tape.

Was UofM basketball a sleeping giant?

I don't know why but I always thought of John Beilein as a doof. He had an amazing offense but as a person he just seemed lame and had about as much charm as door stopper. I was on a family zoom call yesterday and the energy just seems different. Even though I didn't watch a second of the UofM game I heard about the game from folks back in Michigan and found out UofM won.

It just seems special. UofM hoops just has that street appeal to it. The Hoyas had it, UNLV had it and Syracuse has had it. In a sport where you don't have to draft and kids can pick where they go I have a terrible feeling this could snow ball.

In short I think UofM football is a lame tired old product but I actually for some reason think UofM hoops could catch fire for a while.

Should I tune in? I probably won't even see them until the MSU game and I hope it happens. Izzo taking down the arch rivals and earning a bid into this years tournament.

I have definitely felt a shift in the force. Starting to get texts about SCum hoops. Got some stupid meme about their weekend against osu in mens, women's hoops and hockey. I politely asked why we don't get those in November.

The energy is palpable. I never felt it during the Beilein era. He's not exactly the type of guy that's going to get the youth fired up and be that inspiring to fans. It's funny to see Spartans talk about how much they liked him and respected him. I think it was because he was a stick in the mud and a real wet blanket.

This pandemic has definitely changed my perspective on sports. I'm definitely more indifferent to the outcome of the games and seasons.

I haven't watched college sports, MSU included, in over a year. All I know is UM was won a lot of games, is ranked high, and MSU has been decimated by Covid cases. I think there is less information out there than you claim Steve (for those who don't pay attention to consume). You're pretty plugged into this stuff, and that makes you happy. Just go with it, bro. I haven’t watched the OSU vs UofM football game in probably a decade but I understand that OSU dominates UofM. I hate the game but According to TN I’m plugged in and I care. Not really this is easy info to obtain.
