Got in the car to go to work in the pre-dawn light this morning.  Noticed something on the driver seat but didn't pay any attention to it.  Wasn't until I left work that I discovered what it was.

A disposable lighter I'd left on the passenger seat had exploded.  Must have happened after I got home from work yesterday when the vehicle was baking in the afternoon sun.  Never heard of this happening before.

I don't know if Clapton naming his guitar blackie had any deeper meaning than the fact it was black. He called his previous guitar, which was colored in a brown sunburst pattern, "brownie."

That said, "1970's" Eric Clapton was very racist. I don't think there is any doubt about that. He has backed off that now, but still remains pretty hard core right wing. Feel free to hate on him for that.

I looked up Eric's racism in the 70's. Jaw dropping and kind of shocked I'd never heard of it before. He blames it on coke and the booze these days but he took ownership of that label and boldly declared himself a racist. His words not mine. Not sure he deserves the benefit of doubt over the 'Blackie' and 'Brownie' guitar names.

Found most of the smaller pieces on the driver side.   Glad I wasn't in the vehicle.  The little light bulb and battery were kind of surprising until I looked at other similar lighters I have.  Didn't know they had a little flashlight built into the bottom of them.

Anyone know what the hell this is ? We are moving out of our office to a new one and this was at the back of a shelf. Employee told me it had always been there and she has no idea what it is.

No, but I have considered flocking back to the church. Instead of always looking for a female or a mother figure, focusing my attention on being a moral Christian and being a productive and generous member of society. My son has the week off.  Went with his buddy to the shop that works on his 2013 ZR1 today.  The stock motor (6.2L, 638 crank horsepower) got worked over a couple years ago.   Went for a ride and the car scared the shit outta me.   From a 30 roll to 125 mph in maybe 3 seconds.  Remember yelling at son to shut it down.  Acceleration was terrifying.  Sounded like this at idle



Apparently that wasn't enough for son's friend.  Has money and had the shop swap out the terrifying engine for a 427 Dart block and blow-er.  First run on the dyno it hit 1414 whp.  Waiting for updates on tuning runs.

No way I'm getting in that car again.

Guys at the shop thought the numbers were too high for the drivetrain. They detuned it. Last 3 runs were between 1276 and 1325 whp.

Still not getting in that car again.
