Either way I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Moderates (since they determine every election) will recognize the great policies this administration have enacted to help the middle class and democrats will hold the house and gain a substantial amount of senate seats. Right?

Progressives held up the infrastructure bill for months, trying to get their version of BBB passed first. It backfired and they never got it passed. If Dems lose either house I’ll bet is because Progressives won’t vote, like 2016. Old boomers like me vote reliably.

And for the record progressives were worried Joe Manchin would be a a traitor to his party. And they were right. That’s why they wanted the social stuff included in the infrastructure bill. They know a moderate rat when they see one.

Trump tried to overthrow the election. Literally wanted Pence to refuse to certify the electors and claim Trump as winner, violating the Constitution. Joe Biden should find a more liberal compatriot within the party and propose that the democratic party move to ranked choice primary voting and explain that it would help identify more universally acceptable candidates representative of and responsible to all citizens. He should ask/invite the republican party to do the same and promote moving to ranked choice voting for all federal (and state) elections. Use this moment to show how our current system in these times is no longer serving the nation as a whole. This is not a way to have more democrats.
