I need more information on Pete Buttigieg. Because at first blush he seems presidential

Democrats could do worse.

Buttigieg is one of those guys. Top of his HS class, Harvard grad with high honors, Rhodes Scholar, USN intelligence officer worked in private sector before getting into politics.

Checks all the boxes but all you’ll hear is He’s GAY

I like him a lot and we need more future stars of the Democrat party like him, AOC, Katie Porter, even Gavin Newsom, Eric Swalwell, Whitmer, Beto, etc., to be amplified... Nancy (as much I dig her), Schumer, et al., need to realize that their sun has been setting for some time now.

time to hand the keys over to the folks who provide youth, inspiration, and progressive, modern ideals. That's what's gonna keep America move forward.

From what I recall he went from supporting Medicare for all early in the primary until he realized that he had a better track if he went hard centrist and suddenly no longer supported that.

That kind of sudden turn makes me not trust him since you can never really know what someone who does that actually intends to do in office if they’re willing to say whatever to get there

Moving away from Medicare for all was definitely a move to the center. I’m not sure if you’re calling him a hard centerist or not but I definitely don’t see him as a hard centerist. Pretty far from it. Who knows how the political winds will blow, though.

I was in the Warren camp and still could be but if we are going to complain about candidates' ages she's 73 even if she has more energy than Bob. I can definitely line up behind Klobuchar. Indeed, on https://www.isidewith.com/. Klobuchar is currently coming up as my best match.

If it makes you feel better, Warren would definitely be President right now. If she wasn’t such a crappy politician. So you have that feather to stick in your cap.

Buttigieg is very sharp and quick on his feet. From a political ability standpoint, he's excellent. But his healthcare position is weak, and I think that's the biggest indicator of whether a politician knows and cares about what's best for the people. Klobuchar is the same. I scratched them off my list of possible choices pretty early in the 2020 campaign season and have no intention of supporting either for the Democratic nomination in the future.

Roads and bridges are being repaired/rebuilt at an incredible pace. Amtrak is rebuilding and adding new routes (one just opened from Burlington Vt to NYC that hadn’t been running for decades). Oil pipelines are getting scrutiny they haven’t received in years. It’s hilarious that because you missed some flight the Transportation Secretary is to blame. Pete is great.
