None of this will ever be life and death. Nassar, the most horrific thing involving MSU in my lifetime was was stomach churning bad. The ESPN expose was, infotainment. So was Dantonio’s presser after. I guess I don’t get why the News and Freep don’t see that. Two sides in a reasonable debate. Unless they’ve done the math and have figured out this is their best formula for readership. Which I understand.
Well that’s kinda what I’m saying. If it matters, really matters, then they’ll call other journalists out. It doesn’t really matter here, it isn’t worth it. As soon as angelic starts posting stories about Q conspiracies and advocating for shooting up pizza restaurants, someone would say something about it.
We’re half way there with guys carrying guns and enough Ammo to supply a small island nation.

At the end of the day sports shouldn’t be that serious. Can’t argue with him.

They should be covered fairly and accurately, at least from a reporting standpoint.

Exactly, sports isn't serious like covering a war or revolution, but there is a lot of money and passion involved, so a semblance of reporting should be expected. ESPN made a decision several years ago to go more of a TMZ of sports route, where gossip was more important than the story. You may remember when a lot of seasoned reporters left or were let go. This is because they didn't want to do that. Instead, they served up the likes of Paula Lavigne, who "stands by my reporting", even when faced with clear facts to the contrary. Because truth doesn't matter. And that affects the lives and livelihood of real people.

And yes, we know what the problem is the so-called beat writers or reporters they have are active fans of a team, and as such will never cover teams fairly. On the surface, we can say well that’s not a big deal, but let’s face it, in the world of college sports especially when it comes to recruiting and what not that’s a built-in recruiting budget for certain schools and an unfair advantage for them.

L O L that’s funny. You aren’t wrong. It certainly was.
For reference, every major school in America has a graduate assistant, check the police blotter at 7:30 AM each day. The reason they do, is that by 815 each day all the major newspapers that cover that’ school have checked it for players. I know, I know, we can say that the University of Michigan doesn’t do that. Of all the assistant coaches, I’ve known, and I’ve all the people I’ve met, let’s say they’re the only ones that don’t do it. Then, let’s take it a step further, and say even though the Detroit newspapers cover it in regards to eastern. (Emoni Bates) and MSU(Bell’s parking tickets) let’s just take the leap and say, those beat riders either forgot that day, or they just don’t do it at the U of M.
Now, let’s say, it was the police, who kept it off the police blotters, at the direction of the prosecuting attorney. Angelique had no idea for almost 2 months that that incident that happened. Mind you, she knew enough to ask Jim Harbaugh, if the Big Ten had called him and apologize to him nine days after our game against them last year. But in the eight weeks from that incident, we must believe she never heard wind of that story ever. That’s amazing.

"This is being done to widen access to the field for competitors, staff, and game personnel entering and exiting from the tunnel and is a direct result of a thorough safety review following the season," Michigan athletics spokesperson Kurt Svoboda said. "Our goal is to ensure a safe and healthy environment for student-athletes, coaches, support staff, and all fans associated with games at Michigan Stadium."
Somehow (a) MSU is paying for this and (b) u of m will increase seating to 120,000 in the process.

Don't know about AL, is there another major school that competes with AL in the same state?
But OSU has no instate rival so there cannot be a instate wall.
Texas, sure.

I knew you guys would know, good job.
What is the geography of AL. Is it only one major city like MI or is it more like 4 major cities spread apart like OH?

Big 4 of Birmingham, Huntsville, Montgomery, and Mobile. All roughly the size of Grand Rapids. Birmingham bigger than the others if you include all the burbs. Alabama is roughly an hour west of Birmingham. Auburn is half an hour from Georgia in a town about the size of EL (without a city like Lansing next door).

I see, is there one Media center that dominates the state, and if so does it do the "Blue Wall" thing and promote one team while craping on the other?

Alabama gets most of the coverage in a state where no one reads the newspaper and/or doesn't have the internet.

He was also ordered to pay $550 in fines, complete an anger management program and will undergo random alcohol and drug testing.
With only a 3.5 GPA of course he has to undergo random testing.

I’ve said this before. Get a ticket. There is going to be violence like you havent seen since the ejections against USC in the Sun bowl. In that game I’ve never seen a college team (USC) frightened of the wreck less abandon that another team started playing with. You could see fear. Hitting was frightening. Doesn’t guarantee victory and USC hit two long field goals to make it close but damn. It was crazy hitting. Only other msu game close to it was the -48 yardage Michigan game and maybe the way uofm’s DB’s were afraid of TJ Ducket in the clock game.
Buy a ticket. Don’t let your children watch.

Random drug and alcohol testing? Why, was he drunk or high in the tunnel?

Nope he was sentenced in Ann Arbor. If he had an unregistered gun, and was wearing a different jersey it would be different.

Seems like something that a little public pressure could change. But judges/prosecutors like to play take it or leave it with deals like that.
