Michigan elections FAQ: Are Elissa Slotkin, Larry Nassar attack ads true?
A series of ads attacking Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Elissa Slotkin claim she voted to award federal COVID-19 stimulus checks to convicted criminals like Michigan sexual abuser Larry Nassar and Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

I've seen those all over YouTube, it's some of the most absurd attacks I've come across. They literally just announced that slotkin gave money to nasser and convicts. Of course, that's not what happened I'm sure, don't even need a fact check. It's an attack like ESPN did when they tried to connect izzo and dantonio to nasser

Neither Nassar — who is serving a 60-year sentence for child pornography and also pleaded guilty in two Michigan counties to sexually abusing women and girls under the guise of medical treatment — nor Tsarnaev ultimately benefited from the COVID-19 relief checks.
Court documents indicate Nassar initially received a $600 stimulus check in January 2021 and another $1,400 check in March 2021.
All COVID-19 funds issued to Nassar and Tsarnaev were seized on court orders and redistributed to their victims.

Protesters disrupted the convention early on, shouting at U-M Regent Jordan Acker during the National Anthem and questioning whether the university would divest from Israel, among other things.
Acker later told Bridge Michigan the protesters had approached him to question whether he thought reports of Israeli Defense Forces soldiers allegedly committing sexual assault against Palestinian prisoners was “appropriate.”
He said he told the protesters “no” before countering to ask them whether they condemned Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack in Israel and related sexual assault allegations.
“The protester did not answer, and I said, ‘If you cannot say no, I am done talking to you,” Acker told Bridge in a text. “And that’s when the shouting started.”

MY CT is that because the protesters do not condemn the Hamas attacks suggests they are just trying to split the Democratic vote for in favor of Trump in order to continue Iran's war against Israel. These people are likely being controlled by a long-standing Palestinian lobby group in Washington whose goal is the destruction of Israel.

He’s not oblivious. He’s embraced it. The funny part is he came back after leaving in a rage to advertise it. Like we forgot or something.
I suspect he’ll stick around in hopes of Trump winning and gloat. If he loses he’ll post a rage infused manifesto and leave. For a while.

Sheriff Cole didn’t mention that Mason County got $5.652M in COVID Relief from the bill. That $5.652M was equal to 79.9% of Mason County’s 2022 $7.07M budget.
He also failed to say H.B 1349 aka COVID Relief Bill was passed along party lines in the US House.
No House Republican voted for it.

Due to redistricting, the current district map has only been tested in one statewide election — the 2022 midterm. In that contest, Slotkin beat Barrett by just over 5 percentage points.
There has been scant polling in the district so far this cycle, beyond February and July surveys that each showed Barrett leading Hertel by 7 points.

FYI President Biden dropped out on July 21st, so almost two weeks after this poll was performed.
