I think, (emphasis here) that this one is in the Tom izzo football building, not the stadium. Different locker rooms

Wasn’t it less than ten years ago that the stadium locker rooms opened? I think it was in the stadium. There were 2 or 3 nicely done signs with glaring typos.

I was paying about 40 bucks a credit hour in 1981. I think my dis were up to 480 bucks a credit hour. Sure this is financed by other means, but the upkeep comes from the physical plant. All part of the higher education plan. The one that is icing a lot of good kids out of it.

I remembered my last term 1981 being $32.50 a credit hour.  How times have changed...

255/credit when I was there. Just looked at the cost for the current students. I guess that the luxury high rise apartments going up on Grand River should have been my first indication that MSU ain't for the poors anymore.

The locker room is cool, but what will happen when one of our regional rivals builds even better facilities? Will we need to go to the well to renovate our already renovated facilities again? The facilities arms race in higher education just doesn't seem sustainable.

Yeah when the wife and I were at Michigan State, it topped out at $45 per credit hour. 30 years later we were paying $482 per credit hour for my oldest daughter, and for my youngest daughter, I believe it got up to over $500.

Pretty sure it was a flat rate back then for in-staters. No idea what the out-of-state rates were.

I would think something must have happened to cause a 33% increase without causing riots.  And I think you're more than 3 years older than me, so it wasn't the change from trimesters to semesters during your time.

No issue being aged.  All trimesters in my time...they were a beautiful thing IMO.  Certainly, the rates would have been higher if semesters.  Graduation year is listed in the link.  

$32.50 was still a bargain, but that was over 40 years ago.  Credit hour$ went up over 15% year after I graduated.
