Coach Prime Was A Home Run Hire
Bummed their game is on at 10pm. The networks are so stupid. If this guy gets them to 3-0 holy smokes look out. The hype is going to reach runaway freight train levels.

Hype sucks, dieon sucks, the extreme way he pushed kids away sucks. If college ball becomes 100% transactional, what's the point of being a "fan"? The winners will be the fanbase with the dumbest and richest morons.

It's been 100% transactional for some time now. Also, Dieon is now another one of Steve's HRH jinxes.

3-0 and looking cool.
"I sat down with ESPN today and I don’t care if they hear it in Boulder," Norvell said on his radio show Wednesday. "I told them, I took my hat off and I took my glasses off and I said ‘When I talk to grown-ups, I take my hat off and my glasses off.’ That’s what my mother taught me." (Pffft what a dork)
Sanders responded by taking off his hat and sunglasses, and extending his hand with a priceless glare. (Lol!!)

It's not like he is there long term or coaching football. Colorado sold their soul for 2 or 3 seasons of relevance and that's with probably going 5-7 in year 1

Yep. Leave it to fucking Steve to glorify this shit. Deion Sanders signifies everything that is wrong with college football. If Coach "Prime" was hired at MSU I would seriously consider checking out.

He got what was coming, running your mouth about how big and bad you are during pregame was a check that he didn't cash

His team kinda lost their cool a few times.
Deion has always been all about Deion. He has a connection with his players though. Not a believer just yet. I think they'll get popped when they play better opponents.

Hopefully MSU gets a nice defense first coach that does it the right way and embraces Tressel ball. Spartan nation can’t afford to lose your support!

Re: Coach Prime Was A Home Run Hire
Coach Prime is a 21st Century Barry Switzer.
MSU passed on Switzer and hired Denny Stolz in early 1973.
Then the AFL Patriots hired Chuck Fairbanks. Fairbanks, Switzers boss at OU, was an MSU grad, assistant to Biggie and Duffy, who’d recommended Switzer to MSU. Hired Switzer who’d been OC for 6 seasons.
Over the next 17 seasons Switzer won 3 Natty’s and 12 Big 8 Championships.
MSU’s BOT played it safe hiring Denny Stolz who had been MSU’s DC for 2 seasons.
Roll ahead and the same mindset is still at MSU. Coach Prime scares the hell out of MSU old guard just like Switzer scared the hell out of MSU back fifty years ago.

Short term is probably the wave of the future. I’d take two years of the excitement over being stuck with the wrong guy for a long term contract.

This season will be a success for him regardless. His son might leave but watch the recruits line up for him. Free publicity. He’s a magnet now. Think about trying to recruit against him for a player. When he was at a division below, he wasn’t a threat. Now? Forget it.

We'll see. It's only 3 games in. They could easily end up 6-6. Just goes to show you though. The right coach can be successful just about anywhere. Finding and hiring him is the hard part.

Now why would the #1 qb in America go to a game for a team who had 1 victory last year?

He looks cool with shades on and dresses cool. You got dorks like Norvel who were taught by their mother to take their hat and sunglasses off and he did that to send a message on how he wants to run his program.
Also, https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/how-sales-of-deion-sanders-sunglasses-skyrocketed-after-feud-with-colorado-states-jay-norvell/amp/
Wonder why the kids want to play for this guy?

If Colorado beats Oregon next week Avg Joe is going to lose his mind. Hopefully the tv networks put this in a better slot. I’m predicting big ratings if they get it right.

They will have to play a lot better at Oregon. They took a beating this weekend.
I will say this - that was the only fun game to watch all last weekend. I wasn't especially impressed with the quality of that game or the sportsmanship. But they did pull a win out of their ass on that one so they have some resiliency.

He's even less committed to Colorado as he was to the HBCU homage he claimed to be on the last couple years.
What Im saying is, if you fuck with that attitude for "success" it wont be sustainable. (Of course Colorado might not care if they can use this hype to get into a mega conference or something.)

I wanted to watch that game but it was on too late. It’s kind of funny how bad the Pac 12 is at tv. They have a star literally built for prime time and they are screwing it up.

They could easily go 6-6 and maybe win 10 games next year. Then Shedeur goes to the NFL and Deion moves on to greener pastures. Yay Colorado, I guess. Boulder doesn't become a destination job for the next guy because Prime made a 2 year pit stop there.

Next Saturday at 3:30pm maybe you can find an old rerun of Murder She Wrote on syndicated tv while the rest of America is enjoying an exciting modern college football game.
