It used to be that April 20th was when I thought about Columbine. But now it seems like there is always the next one. When can we have the last one?

Tomorrow is Hitlers birthday. FFS I hope the scoreboard operator at the Spring game doesn’t use that for a trivia game.

Trevor upgraded vB TOB once or twice. IIRC data was lost each time...then all went to hell with the move to 247. Lot of funny/memorable stuff, just gone...tGreenWay wrote:The Pantry wrote:BBQ board started over 20 years ago. I joined almost 10 years ago. I was in there sometime in the past 12 months and it was kind of creepy. Poor old Macy's wasn't even bothering to put lipstick on the pig, the carpet and displays looked like hell.
The first time I went to Lakeside was 1977 and I remember it vividly because I went with some friends from HS and driving down from Ortonville it was kind of like a road trip. I spent a good part of the 90s and early 2000s dragging my kids around the mall.
End of an era.

Northland opened in 1954, often credited as being the 1st mall of it's kind. Mom started dragging me around there in 1962.

Not to get too far off track, but hey this is random shit thread...the last lunch counter I ate at was in EL at the State Discount, probably 1982. I bet I haven't thought of that in 30 years. That place was awesome.

Thank you for your last payment of $1,946.89 on 04/01/2024. The remaining balance from last month is $0.00, which is included in the payment due.
That second sentence is totally useless and would take about 2 seconds to programming to make it appear only when someone is delinquent.

No lunch counter at Woolworths now. Just lots of cheap Chinese made products. I occasionally stop to buy arts and crafts things for the five year old.

For some reason I remember the one in Manistee as the Woolworth five and dime. It had a lunch counter.

Went to Lakeside a lot in the late 70s, early 80s. Use to hit ChiChi's often. Haven't been to Lakeside in about 25 years. Last thing purchased was a washing machine at Sears. Sears going down took away most of my reasons to go to a mall.
Haven't been east of M-53/Van Dyke in 7-8 years. Only seen pictures of the Golden Butthole...what were they thinking?
Haven't been to a mall in probably 20 years and that was Somerset to pick up multiple pairs of noise cancelling headphones at the Bose store for a work project.

They should make it no mow July when grass is getting dried out and barely growing. Seems like it's growing at an inch/hour now

I do "no mow July" and/or "no mow August." I can't do "no mow May." It just gets too hard to even mow after that. Last two years I've done "no mow April." I have patches that are 18 inches with seed heads. Didn't have a chance to get at it yesterday as I worked late. Tonight I have to decide if I'm going to hit it with the mower or rent a combine.

Finished the quote today. Glad to be rid of it, for now.
I know my gladness is only temporary. Will eventually be a tech review with customer asking for further breakdown of the stupid breakdown they requested in their RFQ scope of work.
If it wasn't for clients, this job could be kinda fun.

I've got a bunny hanging out in my backyard so I make sure to look for bunny nests. I've missed one once, don't want to do it again.

While I never hit a bunny nest, I did catch a good-size turtle (like a cantaloupe) under a riding mower deck once, slicing off the top half of the shell. It was not pretty. Ever since then, I go out of my way to be nice to turtles.

I try to avoid any bunny nests but I've run over a few. Usually the burrow is completely below ground and I've never actually had a messy situation.
