Moore will have a short time to prove himself and cynically it’s a lot easier for the NCAA to go after umaa football now that Harbaugh has left aa.
Moore isn’t an alum, doesn’t have legacy status and isn’t coming in with the resume like Harbaugh.

Think Harbaugh saw the NCAA and Big Ten commissioner weren’t going to forget about his insolence and denials. In the NFL it’s GM’s and finance people running the show drafting, trading and signing free agents. No more recruiting rules to skirt.

I think Harbaugh leaving might spur the NCAA to hit UM with other penalties (not as lame as suspending him for games). My guess is he never really sat down with investigators. Minter probably didn't either. Nor Jay.

As any number of big-time college football programs have learned, hiring someone with no head coaching experience is highly risky and much higher risk in the new era of CFB.

If I was Moore, I'd think long and hard before taking that job. NCAA hammer is still looming, and the starting roster is on its way to the door. Next season expectations in AA are going to be high, and Harbaugh - with all his coaching experience - probably couldn't have met them. Maybe Moore will come out and do great, but year 1 is certainly going to be a bear.

Certainly for next year at least.

I don't really think that any punishment from the NCAA is going to amount to much, but it'll still be a distraction. That plus their roster...new coach will potentially be getting blamed for a lot.
