This is true. They'll play a 1st place schedule next year, & I wouldn't be surprised if they took a step back. But that pass defense isn't going to get it done this year IMHO. The other 3 teams have much better defenses, and offenses that are just as good as the Lions. That said, you never know. Any given Sunday.

Not just the def. backfield, the O line, too. As great as he has played, Ragnow is going to hang it up soon from all his injuries. Who knows how bad Jackson’s knee will be in the long run. The line was rarely at full strength this season.

Playing with house money doesn’t mean that you don’t want your team to win at all. It means that you’re shocked and pleasantly surprised that they are where they are. No expectations going into the year, basically pulling the wool over peoples eyes as to how good you are.  Houston, Green Bay, maybe Pittsburgh, those are the teams this year that had zero expectations to be in the playoffs. Two of those teams went way beyond expectations but I can tell you as a fan of one of them even though they so-called we’re playing with house money, it doesn’t suck to lose.  Every fan of every team wants them to win every game they play. The further you go in the playoffs the more it sucks to lose. No matter how unexpectedly pleased you are with your team showing way more than anyone thought they could.

In the late 80s my buddy didn’t go to the Rose Bowl with us, because he thought Michigan State would be great for years to come. He made sure he went to the Rose Bowl in 2013. It was a lesson learned.

Playoffs are also a battle of attrition. You have to be lucky to keep going, and very fortunate to have no key injuries to your players.

Everyone of the teams in the playoffs believe they can win it all because they are professionals, they don’t believe in the phrase playing with house money either.

Here’s a word of advice, I remember, being thrilled with the Packers winning Super Bowls. But nothing sucks worse than when they lost the Super Bowl. It’s almost like you would rather have them not be in the Super Bowl, then lose the Super Bowl.  it was a horrible feeling

When I say I'm not going to be upset if the Lions lose against SF, what I mean is that I'm not going to start shitting on them and brow-beating about the "Same Old Lions" like a lot of fans of the franchise do when the team doesn't win every game by 50. Going into the season, I knew the team was capable of making a run in the playoffs, but that it wouldn't be easy. They have exceeded my expectations - I never honestly thought we'd make it this far, yet here we are. I'm proud of that, and no matter what happens, I'm going to consider this season a massive success. Having said all that, I absolutely want to make a run. I want to win it all. Now that we are so close that we can taste it? Are you kidding? Anyone who says that they aren't going to be crushed if we don't go all the way is lying. What we aren't going to do, though, is start trashing the organization for being a poverty franchise. This team has proven that it has turned a page. Maybe the team takes a step back next season, but I don't count on that. The organization has shown that it is willing to open the checkbook to bring in top free agent talent, and that it drafts well. I don't think the Lions will be strangers to the playoffs going forward, but maybe I'm wrong about that.

Told by both my daughter and her fiancé that the work was excellent. They both were there and saw the before and after x-rays. I told them I don’t want to see them until I’m completely healed and then they can show me them. I’m just that kind of guy. My daughter agreed that I probably didn’t want to see the before x-ray.


But the guy is a Spartan undergrad so I’m guessing he does good work. lol. They put a split cast on because it does swell up and shrink every now and then that’s why they put the ace bandage over the cast. That may be why it looks a little crooked.  I have one full week done I have six or seven more to go and then it’s a Walking cast  I can do this

The guy was an incredible kicker. Never thought the Lions would ever have similar success after Eddie, but hello Jason Hanson. The Lions had great fortune with those two guys, especially given most of the rest of the teams were stinky.
