Yeah, let’s gamble. The stakes aren’t really that high.

Yeah, let’s gamble. The stakes aren’t really that high.
As I said above, the switching of candidates will be nowhere near that smooth. People's feelings will be hurt and they will not support the new one.
As for the actual mechanics of GOTV, which is critical in a close race, if the new one isn't Harris, they are throwing the entire GOTV effort for the Presidential race out the window, thus a "bloodbath" for the Democratics, up and down the ballot.
Even with Harris there will be a ton of people who will stop volunteering, so a very much watered down GOTV effort.
What is going on in the Democratic Party is political suicide, and they have to know that.
My question still is why?

I do.
All of his appearances, plus what is still getting done as President.
He is one very sharp dude.
If you only look at the MSM "greatest hits" where he misspeaks you don't know that.
BTW, it is getting really boring of the MSM to interview him and ask him the same question over & over & over ...."When are you quitting the race?" He has the patience of a saint to deal with than idiocy.

For every one or two volunteers that step down when Biden retires, there will be 10 more willing to take their place.
There's no energy - literally or figuratively behind a Biden campaign.
Kingston nailed it. This is about getting that middle 20% to not hold their nose and vote for Trump.

We haven't had one poster on here saying that "if only Harris were running, I would be volunteering 247"
There are what, at least 5 possible replacements, but only Harris gets to hold onto the Presidential campaign staff & the existing GOTV structure.
Don't you guys get it? (Rhetorical, other than GRR I'm pretty sure you don't)
Without that GOTV structure the entire Party loses its races big time.
Problem with Harris is she isn't any more "popular" than Biden and so she is in for a big fight to be picked.
This is insanity, guys.

In OJ's case there are two sets on contradicting documents. Problem with the OJ case was that the police apparently made-up evidence, or someone with smaller hands worn the gloves.
The documents case isn't over.

Yes. If all of those what ifs happen, (some or most) people will say Biden should have exited the race.
And if he does step down and the new candidate loses (and the Dems lose the House and Senate), that will be bad also.
I mean...it's not really fair to just paint a rosy outcome if he steps down. I don't see a ground swell of support for Harris. Maybe it would emerge. I don't know. I don't think anyone does.
(And again...I think there's still a chance he exits the race.)

This report suggests 11 to 15 percent.
Utilizing the 2024 Stanford, Arizona State and Yale (SAY) survey panel, we define persuadable voters as those who say they are undecided about their presidential vote, plus those who indicated a preference for a candidate in our survey but also said they would still consider voting for the rival. Over the last 10 weeks of our panel polling, the number of "persuadable" voters defined this way has ranged from 11 percent to 15 percent.
Fewer if you are talking about pure undecideds.

Most people vote Democrat or Republican every election. The last two Presidential elections showed how those undecided voted.NigelUno wrote:
You think there are 20% of voters that are still deciding? And Biden staying in the race will make it 60/40 for Trump? If Biden exits the race, will the vote swing 60/40 to the Democrats?
Yeah, you can argue if the hardcore left and right are 40%, or 35% or 38.65%, but the facts remain - each side has a solid base.
I think there's a lot of folks in the middle who've already made up their minds.
That's why I want Uncle Joe Pudding Brains to step aside - maybe mix up the math a little bit. Otherwise the Dems are getting swept. That's obviously just my opinion (and the same opinion as held by many other prominent Democratic minds) and obviously Trap doesn't share that opinion. But we come here on a daily basis and bitch about it nonetheless. As Bob would say, we are a very stupid country.

This report suggests 11 to 15 percent.Utilizing the 2024 Stanford, Arizona State and Yale (SAY) survey panel, we define persuadable voters as those who say they are undecided about their presidential vote, plus those who indicated a preference for a candidate in our survey but also said they would still consider voting for the rival. Over the last 10 weeks of our panel polling, the number of "persuadable" voters defined this way has ranged from 11 percent to 15 percent.
Fewer if you are talking about pure undecideds.

Like I said. Call it 20. Call it 11. Call it 14.0349%.
The problem isn't the exact number. The problem is the Uncle Joe is losing them.

Once again using the mainstream media that you say is bad to back up your claim.Trapper Gus wrote:NigelUno wrote:
