I have a suspicion that Trump is going to get slaughtered in the general election.

If they’re going to lean into rhetoric insinuating violence and play the “political prisoner” card, I don’t think the average American has the stomach for it. They’ve had a taste of his “crowd” on Jan 6 2021.

Haley is still nabbing 20%ish in primaries. The constant whining, blatant falsehoods, and revolution/civil war talk is a non starter for most people. These aren’t simple policy differences with his opponent. It’s hinting at violence and oppression. I think the blowback comes within the GOP as many traditional republican types just sit it out. They’ll accept four years of policy differences over an upheaval of democracy.

I do think he is in trouble. You can see it on his face and in his words at his speeches. He is in trouble and he knows it. He's doing more straight reading from the teleprompter than he ever has and he sounds defeated already. and when he doesn't read from it, it's completely repetitive nonsense we have heard a thousand times. He knows something is not going well for him.

Slaughtered though? That's a strong word. It'll be close still I think.

I'm optimistic, but then I see the polls. And frankly, I couldn't believe it happened the first time around.

Hopefully, the red state D's really lean into the big govt/healthcare thing and women come out. That could be a blue wave.

Really shouldn't be difficult. Throw up quotes from the r ohio legislator that said all non-procreative sex should be banned. Show the shitheads in Utah and Texas proposing birth control be banned... That alone should get everyone of reproductive years off the couch. Then throw on the physical "tracking" of pregnant women to not cross state borders proposed in the south. YIKES.

I think you can use the example across many spectrums. Work, sports, friendships, etc. He burns so hot eventually it just becomes tiresome. You get burned out.

I get his base will be there for him. Always. But your joe average republican who voted for the McCains and Romneys of the world have to have grown tired. Another trial? You want more money from me because you hire shitty lawyers? Yet still Flying around in Trump force 1? We still talking about 2020? For the uninitiated, TikTok is just like anything else. It isn’t very complicated. If you show interest in something, it gives you more of that. Sometimes too much more. It isnt cleaver or subtle, it beats you over the head and is obvious what it’s doing. If you skip past a video, it doesn’t give you more of that. If a trump video comes into my feed (and I don’t out right block it) and I skip right past it, it’ll not come up again. The next video is cooking, I usually watch those, it’ll give me more of that. Then it’ll drop in a lions video, I watch it, it gives me more lions. It’ll drop in a broncos video, I skip past so it learns that I’m not a general nfl fan but a lions specific fan, etc etc. 

I see almost nothing when it comes to Gaza or anything else politically, because I don’t watch them as I don’t want my TikTok feed to go the route of my Twitter feed, except as it relates to ms Rachel. She’s a saint and the people that were mean to her are vile disgusting monsters.

I guess summary is- if you’re looking for far right or left wing propaganda, TikTok will give it to you. But that’s the same as any other social media platform. It’ll feed you whatever you want it to feed you.

I think everyone understands that, Travis. I don’t do the Tik Tok thing. I wish there was more “regulation” if you will on what is posted or whatever they call it in the Tok.

Maybe I should have said “most everyone”. The others are what I’m talking about. The nut jobbers on any outlet are the problem. Does the Tok do a good job of moderating or removing content? I’ll use Trump as an example. I’m gonna go out on a limb and assume at least half of what he will upload is a lie or dangerous. Will it get removed? I’m asking because I don’t know their policies on that type shit. My exposure on the platform is limited.

Reading this I too am wondering if T-T has any moderation and/or if it does the "suggested for you" thing like YouTube does using your past history.

A) yes it has moderation. Sig more so than Twitter and probably Facebook unless you’re talking about a nipple which Facebook will be all over.
B) that’s not how Tik tok works, no. All it is is videos. You don’t really select the video unless you go to a specific profile and click on it. The majority use is going to be that a video plays and you move to the next when you’re done with it. They are all 5 minutes or so or less, most of them are under a minute. If you watch a full right wing propaganda video then skip a video about cooking and a video about football and a video from a liberal then watch a full video of right wing propaganda, etc etc then it’s going to feed you more right wing propaganda because that’s pretty clearly what you’re looking for. 

You can take the topic I just listed and shuffle them any way you want. If you don’t want to see politics at all then skip past those videos and it’ll stop showing them to you. That’s generally what I do there.
