Much better game than Monmouth. Kohler was out of control. In a good way.
I think the starters will remain the same all year. I could see Zapala not starting vs. smaller line ups, but he's been surprising. Cooper seems to be struggling. Maybe the mask really bugs him. Richardson is very composed.

My guess is that Willis will have a better NBA career than NCAA.
KW is also a successful haberdasher.

The way Cooper hit the floor I was sure he’d broken everything on that side of his body. He’s probably sore as hell today but getting up that quick and brushing it off was impressive.

So much depth in the 1-3 spots.
Agree on Richardson he had no problem driving on their bigs. I love Fears push and determination. He does have some Cleaves in him too. Holloman has proven he is more then capable. Akins is showing flashes of what he could be. And Teng is an after thought that is the most consistent from 3....
Really the only "weakness" I do see is Booker's D if he is going to be out there....(it would be different if he was averaging 25/game, but he isn't)
Kohler is the man so far... even when he misses those bunnies he should be draining, he went right back up and got his own rebound more then once which is new.
Cooper is Cooper. Zapala is a pleasant surprise. How does a 7 footer that looks the part in a high D1 rotation sit the bench at Longwood?

I forgot about Akins. He had a good game. Seems like he suffers from a lack of confidence at times, but I could be misreading that. Fears has no fear. If he can drive the lane successfully, we're going to have a very good year.

My point being, he's closer to a Torbert 5 star then a JJJ 5 star. He's got a lot to work on, Mostly between the ears. At this point, I'm wondering if he will be the first college kid to get a NIL pay cut. I'm positive you can find 2 serviceable (acceptable D and 10pt/game) 6'8" or 6'9" guys for (probably less than) $500k. Shit, Niagara had 2 that Ishbia could have hired in the parking lot.

Nah, I want X coached by Tom. Booker’s potential is all there, he just needs time with TI to become a crazy good player.

See: Payne, Adreian. RIP
I remember when people were calling him a miss. But by second half of his junior year he found "IT".

IIRC, AP was also hampered by asthma or some other breathing problem. Between TI’s coaching and getting AP’s stamina up, he became a true force. I really miss that guy.

Same with Suton, Naymick, Nix and Costello. ( I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple more) So yes there is a solid history of bigs getting better. I just wish DJ was still here to coach Booker.

Kansas is incredible. AJ Storr and Flory Bidunga both coming off the bench. They will pound the ball down low against us. Not to mention little dick still playing for them. It won't be pretty on Tuesday.NigelUno wrote:Assignment for all is to scout Kansas right now. Playing UNC.

2-11 on FGs. Also didn't start, which may be a 1 game thing (no idea).
Good Luck to him though.

Push the ball, hit some 3s, play tough defense, don't turn the ball over.

I really wish we still had Walker. His career was wasted on bad teams. Although who knows if this team will be any better than the last 4 years. They need to light a fire under Booker. Call his mom names or something.NigelUno wrote:Green money wrote:Kansas is incredible. AJ Storr and Flory Bidunga both coming off the bench. They will pound the ball down low against us. Go to the QD on Lake Lansing Road and ask for today's fresh catch special. When the store clerk asks if you want salmon or walleye, say you want to speak to Chuck. Then go back the next morning to get the tickets.

SeatGeek. I'd guess $125-150 for lower bowl right now. Wait it out.

So many shots of the back of the rim. Then the crazy throw by Jace and the foul to keep us in it. Without Dickson and the other guy, Kansas is struggling.DWags wrote:Our starters are 3-18 for 6 pts in the first half. 1-11 from 3 as a team and we’re in this.
