Build on the positive. We hung around with the number one team in the nation while three of the guys that we count on really had off games. I really think this team is going to be OK.

Kansas played pretty good defense, but if they're #1...we're gonna be OK.
Make some 3s and we win.
Fears needs to drive the lane more.
The floor was a joke. Players slipping everywhere.

Yes, I noticed he played 13 minutes total. I'd play him 12 minutes off the bench. Kohler plays harder and deserves most of front court minutes. I hope Akins got that bad game out of his system

lol It’s always fun reading posts from randos on the internet who think they know more than a major college basketball coach. Please post your bona fides so we know the level of genius from which you speak.

Booker sat the 2nd half and I agree with that. Unless he improves he should continue to play minimum minutes. I would send added message with him not starting. What is your plan Edison since you are so bright?tGreenWay wrote:Green money wrote:

I will be the first one to tell you that Greenway is not very bright. Â But he’s bright enough to know this: Â He knows what he doesn’t know, and certainly doesn’t act like he knows it all on a Message board. Â
I have always felt that being dumb, wasn’t so much of a disadvantage for me as long as I knew I was dumb
It’s the dumb people that don’t know they are dumb that Bring so much pain into our lives. Â
Being Just smart enough to know you are stupid, really helps you get through life. Â Being dumb enough to think you are smart Is way more dangerous.

Don’t know, but it keeps me from calling radio shows and saying “the lions should trade their back up quarterback and a first round pick for Mahomes and then use both him and Goff at the same time in a game”.

lol What Dwags said. Go back to my post and work on your reading comprehension. I never said I had an answer. I leave that to the coaches. I said it’s fun reading coaching comments from guys like you pretending to know more than major college coaches while hiding behind your keyboard. I also asked you to post the extent of your basketball coaching experience. Who knows, maybe you’re someone whose basketball opinions I should consider. But if you don’t, you’re just another know-it-all on a sports message board pretending to be better at figuring out basketball team lineups than the people paid millions to actually do it.
You probably think you know more about coaching football, too, than the guys leading their teams out of the tunnel on game days.

We’ve all brought politics here to this board, sometimes inadvertently. But this will be your first warning to please don’t do it. This isn’t the RCMB, and frankly I’ve received an education in basketball by some of the idiots on this board. If you have a legit reason for your opinion I look forward to it. I myself have coached two JV high school basketball games in my life so often these guys pm me to try to bleed me of my extensive knowledge.
Point is, you know the board to talk politics. You can insult members about their lack of knowledge of a sport here our laud yours. But let’s keep the two boards separated. (Unless it’s a topic where politics is in sport (transgender, kneeling for the anthem etc).
I thought greenway asked a legit question.

Do you ever get the feeling that the team starts thinking about their misses? I saw Booker miss three or four in a row, and then he was wide open. Had a great look for a fist shot, but passed it up.
I’m of the mind shooters shoot. If your offense is designed to get somebody open at the three-point line and you have the look then shoot it.
Akins will get it together, When is the last time we had just had a dead aim dead on three-point shooter that you couldn’t leave open at all?

That said, Whatever Izzo is doing in the preseason should probably include 47% more 3 pt shooting drills.

For sure. Some guys (appear to) lose confidence. And that may have been why Booker sat. If he's in there to make 3s, and won't shoot...then might as well sit him.
Hauser was our last guy. Walker had some good years. We need to get a few guys in that 40% range. Kohler took 5 3s vs. Kansas. He took 5 in his first 2 seasons (and probably got yelled at). If he can knock them down, it will help immensely.
Fears has to drive the lane more and kick out for wide open looks for other guys. I think that's coming.

At halftime, Kansas was huddling up...we were on the court practicing swinging the ball from one side to the other for wide open corner 3s. Over and over and over. Like a legit coordinated practice session. We had a plan. They just weren't going down. And Kansas was playing good defense.
We have a leader. We're still playing around with lineups (as usual). Kohler is a scorer. Fidler is a scorer. We need Akins to be a scorer. I like this team.

We played with them for a lot of the game. It sucks we lost, but taking on the #1 team in the country and playing them so close is something positive to build on.

I saw where izzo said that they were not going to double him, and he knew he'd get his points because of that. He said he also thought that they did well guarding the 3 because they didn't double him.

Playing hard and losing a close game? No thanks. I don’t believe in moral victories. I only believe in immoral victories. Izzo should’ve had the team scam the elderly on the phone at halftime.

I don't know about any of that, but what I do know is this: Pervis Muldoon, is one of the greatest evaluators of MSU football on a grading scale perhaps in the history of our University. I don't know how he does it. Objective, Subjective, Data points, analytics. I don't know if the man sleeps a wink during the fall. His evaluation and grading of MSU Football week to week is as close to perfection as a melting moments halftime snack on an 85 degree first game of the season. If it was possible to give a professor over 100% score, it would have to go to our very own, Pervis Muldoon.
