Yet two years ago when M did it at OSU it was all in good fun ... MSU should schedule some other team when they are suppose to play M and tell them "too bad"

It needs to stop. This shit doesn’t happen after nfl games, I don’t think it happens very often after high school, just college sports
Travis nailed the $100k. Then the big ten said “ we consider the matter closed”.

Big Ten gets $1B per year. The commissioner knows what the Fox share is and. Do some math and it’s at least several million. That’s probably more than Underwood’s NIL for 1 season.

Is this something you wish they’d done? Because nothing in that statement says the two schools will lose their shares from that game.

Yeah that’s not happening. The “fine” is exactly in line with what you’d expect for the conferences cash cows.
There could literally be a gun fight on field between the two and OSU would still be hosting an NCAA playoff opening round game in a couple weeks.

Until the Big Ten makes ALL its members pay major fines for fights, coaches swinging at other coaches (see JHerp) or pre game shit shows scum won’t make an effort to stop. They have an AD and board of regents that don’t care so long as wins and donations keep coming.

100k means nothing to either of those schools.
We talked about eliminating the hand shake line after a certain school’s head coach slapped another coach in it.
We talked about, and implemented staggering teams going into the tunnel after a certain school got into scuffles with three separate schools.
Now we’re talking about altering this.
Michigan doesn’t just plant a flag or use hard words in a hand shake line or celebrate with their own team running into a tunnel. They get in your face, they wave good by to your fans they shove your coaches.
Fine them all you want, but that’s school won’t change. I don’t have an answer other than fuck them.
I hope whatever school you are describing has a strong president that doesn't idolize football coaches and players as heros. Hopefully they'll get a stern talking to.

You know, I just put this together, 12 teams means you can get the best four of them in, then you can take the next best four.
Then, guess what you can do? You can put in teams that are going to bring eyeballs to the TV sets. This is gonna get really sickening because you know the brand names will be in every year.
With these fuckers don’t realize, is there are a bunch of us that would tune in and cheer on an army team. I would much rather watch an army squad and cheer for them. And I really do think there are enough college football enthusiast that would. But I’m not a suit at work.

I would guess Alabama will be competing for the last spot with Miami.
And I think we'll see a 14 team playoff sooner than later.

I get that they’re going to keep expanding. My point is this there will always only be four to six teams with a legitimate shot at a title so the more they expand, the more they are going to be able to pull in the brand names that are going to bring eyeballs to the TV sets
This is better than the NFL. NFL teams by and large to get in on Merritt. College teams after the first eight, are going to be getting in on popularity. Just my opinion.

You’re right. When committees choose the teams, they will routinely bullshit themselves and us, putting their feelings or agendas above the actual results on the field.
Committee Chairman Gary Barta after they put Michigan ahead of MSU in 2021, even though the teams had identical records and MSU had beaten Michigan.
“I would just summarize that the committee went back and forth and, really, the consensus was that Michigan was probably a more complete team. They’re ranked higher than Michigan State in just about every category. That being said, the committee gave great credence to a Michigan State win head-to-head against Michigan.”
It amazes me that the tough guy football fans in this country defend a system that treats football like a beauty pageant. We don’t need judges telling us which team is prettier. We need rules that allow the teams to decide it on the field.

With an expanded field we hope that the best two teams get in, beyond that it is all about the money

Going to 14 should guarantee another (or two) SEC/Big Ten/or ND will get in every year. 9/14 teams will be Big Ten/SEC/ND. It won't shock me if they make some conferences do a play in game at some point. Have the MAC/Sun Belt champs play, and the winner faces the SEC Champ in a 16 team playoff...and all ticket/TV revenue goes to the NCAA.
