Who will be the VP choice

And field is defined as Walz, which makes sense. Minnesota is a giant field.
In the little I’ve seen of Walz, he seems to have a Midwest/heartland regular guy folksiness to him.

I don't think the elitist vibe that Penn is going with will go over well with regular folks.

Re: VP poll
I was and still am a Mark Kelly fan. For whatever reason(s) he wasn’t selected. I think Shapiro’s decades old remarks about Israel could have cost the Democrats MI out of the gate. 50,000+ Arab Americans voting for Slotkin for US Senate and Tlaib in MI 12 don’t vote for POTUS.

Re: VP poll
I look at Wazl as a somewhat defensive move, given that MN is bluer than not, if Harris wins then MN will likely still have a Democratic governor in the next cycle.
Most of the other big-name choices didn't have that backstop.
edit - and he wraps up the balding grandfather vote.

I've already seen him in a picture with a Springsteen tshirt, so that's good enough for me.Trapper Gus wrote:I look at Wazl as a somewhat defensive move, given that MN is bluer than not, if Harris wins then MN will likely still have a Democratic governor in the next cycle.

Sure, like most of us he is younger than The Boss.

Re: VP poll
Walz choice can be seen as a way to placate the old guy and women (60 and over) who liked Biden but were iffy on Harris.
The fight is for the shrinking middle and today, Walz statements are a lot more conciliatory towards the middle than the Trump-Vance scorched earth message.
Anyone who is a hardline 2024 Republican, MAGA acolyte, self-labeled conservative or libertarian has made up their minds to vote for Trump regardless of what happens between now and November.

Re: VP poll
First Genocide Joe drops out, now Kamala picks my preferred VP candidate? This is a new feeling, and I don't know how to act.
