So you’re going to tell everyone to tune in at 630 for a press conference, then you’re going to be 45-60 minutes late to it, which means the talking heads will have to fill the air, which the talking heads are going to fill talking about how old your guy is, thereby getting that message out to a larger audience than they otherwise would have had.

Many people in America are stupid, politically oblivious or both.

However Biden happens to be POTUS running for a 2nd term and he volunteered to get outside The White House protective bubble starting with having an early debate when the curtain was pulled back not by the media asking mean questions but by his own actions and words.

I have referenced President Wilson finishing the last 15 months of his second term recovering from a debilitating stroke.

There was Polio survivor FDR with a press corp that didn't photograph him being moved in his wheel chair and never made reference to the Secret Service or family members getting him out of his chair near the podium or assisting him so he could steady himself. In his last term there was no mention of his failing health.

We now know Nancy Reagan did a lot of orchestration of schedules for President Reagan so he looked sharp at appearances, especially after his recovery from the assassination attempt.

Lastly we had President Trump. Trump's comment on his health were kept to commenting on his physicals done by a very friendly White House doctor who never said anything negative. In fact Trump ordered his civilian physician to write a letter declaring him the most fit of all POTUS that had been before him and once in The White House had USN Captain (then Admiral) Ronnie Jackson MD giving him glowing reports after his physicals.

Biden isn't getting any breaks but in my opinion, the only way he could have pulled off a successful run for a second term would have been to delay the "debate" or refuse to debate using the recent SCOTUS decision as a reason no one should debate a person with guaranteed immunity from the highest court in the land.

He didn't. He rolled the dice and lost. Politics ain't bean bag. Biden knows this and now its up to him and those around him to realize attempting a second term is risking The Republic as we've known it for the last 247 years.
