Re: Harris Vs. Trump 2024. The battle to save America. Lets do this.
Rick Saunders wrote:Joe Biden was a good president. I like Joe Biden. I voted for Joe Biden (more than once). I would have voted for Joe Biden.
Joe Biden never overcame (and never could) overcome his own 2019/2020 campaign. The biggest general knock on Joe Biden in 2019/2020 (in the Democratic primary season) was that he was too old. He was able to sell his experience especially with old school politics and convinced the electorate that he was the one who could beat Trump. He helped his case along in 2020 by saying he would be a bridge or transition president and in so doing acknowledged that he would be too old in 2024.
If it was true four years ago there's no getting around that was true in 2024. Most people believed he was too old in 2020 but held their nose.
It was a good deal. Biden won and he did an excellent job.
The force love ya Trapper but when you were saying "four more years" all I could ask myself is what you meant. If I could have four more years of 2022 Joe Biden I would totally take that but that was never even going to be on the ballot.
Who's fault? DWags has it right, I think. Everybody. Joe, DNC, elected leaders in the party, electorate.
So I guess I'm off the Biden train and standing on the platform (not a bad metaphor, I guess). I'd personally like to have a voice in the choice of trains but like most here I will gladly take the Harris if that's what is offered.
Nonetheless, my weak voice will still keep asking for/suggesting a serious overhaul of our primary and general election voting methodology and timing.
I will continue to say that everyone calling Biden "too old" is an age hating idiot.
He has more on the ball than anyone on here or any other politician.
You guys have been hoodwinked by the MSM doing what the billionaire donors wanted to avoid taxes you you are too ashamed to admit it.

We can do this.
Unlike you I was always on board. This election was always about saving democracy in America That you couldn’t grass that point is not a surprise to me.

Harris is only doing well because Biden lined up her support before dropping out.

I will freely admit that I only support the Democrats when it suits me. Frankly, any other attitude towards a political party seems rather silly to me.
I didn't want another term of Biden, the Dems are no longer running Biden, now I currently fully support the Dems until they displease me again.

There is a lot of that thinking out there, but I don’t understand it. It’s not likely you are ever going to find a candidate that matches perfectly with your ideas. It’s a two horse race, sometimes you’re just picking the lesser of two evils.Cameron wrote:I will freely admit that I only support the Democrats when it suits me. I already explained this to you. I was the first on Wells to support him. I donated to him numerous times. And I only got nervous after the debate. He was going to lose. Most Democrats realized that. For some reason you can’t understand it. By the way, I called for Mel Tucker to be fired here the morning after the story broke. Caught some heat for that. Turns out it was the right decision. It didn’t mean I wasn’t a Spartan by calling for his firing.DWags wrote:PennSpartan wrote:

Some would argue that not supporting Biden running again is in fact supporting the party and that supporting Biden through it all despite obvious red flags is putting the individual above the party.

Nobody ever gets exactly what they want Cameron.
Ask Benjamin Netanyahu, Donald Trump, Nigel Farage.
The decision to engage Hamas is lasting longer and costing more than he ever expected.
Trump had everything planned to thump Biden in November then Biden isn’t there.
Farage sold a majority of UK voters Brexit was a winner. His party did win some seats in the recent elections but they needed to change the name from Brexit Party to ReformUK because Brexit was a loser.
