NC Governor Cooper officially withdrew from VP consideration.

A major concern for him was NC’s Lt. Governor, a Republican, would become acting governor anytime Cooper left the state. Then as acting governor, he would sign bills sent to him by the NC legislature to undo some bills Cooper had previously vetoed before April 2023.

Last April, State Rep Tricia Cotham, who won her ‘22 election by 22 points running as a Democrat flipped to become a GOP member giving them a veto proof majority in the state house.

It’s Wild West time in NC too. The MAGA GOP will stop at nothing to get and maintain power.

I don’t know man. Most of are going to vote for a presidential candidate who shook his hand. I don’t think a low key applaud should be a hard stop for any of us on the VP role.

Mark Kelly would be a great choice for VP. I don’t have a problem with his stance on Israel. His wife, Gabby Giffords is Jewish. So I can’t imagine he would openly support Palestine.

I thought there was some weird date in early August where you had to nail everything down in order to make the ballot in Ohio? There's no way Trump can win without Ohio.

Wouldn’t that mean Trump would have to admit he made a mistake? Like on multiple levels?

He picked the wrong guy
He hired the wrong people to advise him
He hired the wrong people to vet Vance
His son screwed up the process
Given all the info he made the wrong choice.

What’s actually hilarious is that Trump trusts his son in law more than he trusts any of his children. His sons are reduced to being attack dogs. His son in law is the guy out their swinging slimy deals with the Saudis.

Having tried to do business with The Trump Organization in the mid ‘80’s and lost over $100K in commissions between them substituting one item and stiffing the electrician who stiffed the electrical distributor, nothing is out of the question.

The GOP is running the same kind of polling the Democrats did after the first debate. If the polling shows J D Vance is hurting the ticket and they are losing women in key swing state precincts, Vance is toast.

We know Trump will say anything to anybody to justify actions. They can spin it saying Vance’s wife/children have an undisclosed illness that requires his full attention as a father. Vance leaves, still a GOP US Senator from Ohio until 2028. By then 2024 election is ancient history and it’s time for a Hillbilly Elegy reprint.
