The point is, sports teams and news broadcasts still use radio. Same with music and talk shows. I don’t know why, but they do. And it seems to infuriate younger people, who want everything from the past to die. Why don’t you just do what you like, and I’ll do what I like. Deal?

I haven’t listened to terrestrial radio in years and I drive a lot. Mostly podcasts, audiobooks, Apple Music, Sirius XM, and other live streaming.

Do you actually think “the internet” has a separate broadcasters from the one done by the radio station for my local high school games?

Most games on the internet are feeds from radio broadcasts, including the Tigers, Lions, etc. When I listen to them here it’s the Tigers and Lions broadcasters.

Also, I can’t listen to my high school games on the radio because in live 400 miles away. However, I liane listened to their streams on occasion for absolutely free.

Most are collecting dust. Skeleton crews, little to no local staffing or content, basically the sound of hits packages set to shuffle play, interrupted by commercials increasingly created by AI. A friend of mine programmed an AI announcer. Radio is dead.

iHeartMedia, the largest owner of terrestrial radio stations in the country, had an operating loss of $910 million last year. I don’t think that’s very sustainable.
