Broadcast TV is targeting the demographic that watches whatever show...

An internet youtube ad is targeted at the specific user, each ad is for the person calling up the youtube...

YouTube tv ads, which is what I use, are not always the same as broadcast ads. Also I’m intentionally not logged in for the toddler programming to prevent everything I am logged into to constantly be telling me to watch Ms Rachel again, so the alogos are pure.

There was an “attempted abduction” here in town. At least it was being  investigated as such. It was determined no charges could be filed after the investigation.

A 10 year old was outside playing and a car with two males was stopped at a stop sign. They were not speaking English. He felt uncomfortable and told his mom. She called 911.

Can’t imagine where he learned to feel uncomfortable in that situation. FTR I’m not blaming the kid.

9 weeks from Election Day Trump and his GOP sycophants are questioning if Kamala ever worked at McDonalds. Might be a “debate” is a week away and nothing has rattled Harris yet. This gives Trump one talking point he’ll keep pounding on demanding “proof” for the entire “debate”

He is definitely getting desperate. I know he has recently flip flopped on abortion. Now his campaign is sending mailers out touting his new stance. We got one yesterday addressed to my wife for some reason "Donald Trump Common Sense Policies on Abortion" outlining states choice and vowing to protect access to birth control. Pathetic. I put it on the fridge to piss my wife off.

We all believe that if a Republican Congress passes an abortion ban he will be signing it in a New York minute.

I'm hoping to see Slotkin defeating Rogers while she and Harris keep hammering  the GOP's stance on abortion including Trump trying to play both sides (States Rights vs Federal ban) will result in a significant number of wives of conservative men canceling there spouse's votes.

Slotkin helps Harris win MI.

Wife said he's going to lose the votes of the people who originally supported him because of being pro life. I don't know everything by any means but I had to laugh. At least he knows his base. There is nothing on earth this man could do at this point to lose voters.

the funny thing about it is that his base is anything but 'pro-life' - they actually have contempt for life. You can't celebrate school shootings, cheer for someone who rapes women/girls and mocks disabled people and be 'pro-life'.

republicans/libertarians support him because they're christians and they hate the same people: women, minorities, LGBTQ+, immigrants, etc.

Slotkin is essentially running as a republican based on the ads I’m seeing.

I can’t explain it. Something about her comes across as insincere. Seems like I’ve watched 3 different ads on what “motivated” her into public service. First it was her mom’s insurance, then it was 9-11, then it was her family farm. Who am I to question her motivations but the middle class family farmer shtick (who went to Cranbrook) seems a little suspect. Endorsed by Liz Cheney, touting Trump signing her bill. It just seems a little convenient how every world or personal tragedy hits her specifically.

Compared to her opponent who bought a lot in Michigan so he could claim Michigan residency after living for years in a mansion in Florida she would have to go pretty low to match him.

Watched her intro ad on her site, seemed okay if just a bit low energy, do all political ads now need to sound the the new bright shiny thing to impress?

I think it's possible to be motivated by different things at different stages of life.

I think it's possible to be motivated by different things at different stages of life.

I agree. I guess maybe the everything all at once thing is a bit of a turn off to me. She’s la better option than Roger’s, that’s for sure.

Slotkin is very much a centrist, if not leaning right a bit. She had to be if she planned on winning the district she now represents.

she is strong on national security, understands the importance for affordable healthcare and is diametrically opposed to the racist, bigoted, christian sexual predator, convicted rapist and convicted felon's christian agenda, so that's good enough for me.

Ultimately my concern is that we do not need senators who will think things like “well, maybe 9 Supreme Court seats is fine. I’ll just use my reach across the aisle style to ask Clarence Thomas nicely if he will stop being a trash monster. That’ll do it”. We already have dick Durbin to fill that role, and I assure you, it’s wildly ineffective. We need senators that are happy to destroy the filibuster, expand the court to 350 million Americans, and ensure our civil liberties are protected.

Alas, the state party saw fit to force feed us slotkin instead so here we are.

Agreed. They themselves are amoral assholes so I would guarantee 99.9% of them are correctly assuming that he's just saying these things to get elected and are OK with the obvious lie, they will naturally assume it's not them that's getting lied to

Whoever the MI Democrats decided who could get the votes to send Mike Rogers back to Florida is fine by me.
