Now Hoyer needs to relegate Brady to the bench.
Too bad Hoyer wasn't there a month ago to have their little wager on the MSU/um game. I remember a few years ago Brady had to wear a Spartan shirt during a press conference because he lost the bet to Hoyer.

Re: Spartans in the NFL
Good move by the Patriots. They were not going to be able to sign Garoppolo - they pick up very high second round pick and a well seasoned back-up.
It could also work out well for the 49'ers - they get to try out a guy who everyone loves but in reality has completed 63 NFL passes (all for the Patriots).

Re: Spartans in the NFL
Apparently, Hoyer was supposed to be included in the original deal, but the Patriots nixed if for compensatory pick reasons.
https://www.patspulpit.com/2017/10/30/16579320/patriots-49ers-brian-hoyer-originally-part-jimmy-garoppolo-trade-but-yanked-compensatory-draft-picks
It sounds like the trade was going to be Jimmy Garoppolo in exchange for the 49ers 2018 second round pick and Brian Hoyer, but the Patriots wanted Hoyer removed for compensatory draft pick reasons. The 49ers are not projected to receive any compensatory draft picks, while the Patriots are scheduled to receive two fourth round picks and a seventh round pick.
Hoyer counts as a fifth round pick on the compensatory draft pick cancellation chart on OverTheCap.com, but if a player is released before a certain point in the year they do not count in the compensatory math. The Patriots proved that by releasing tight end Clay Harbor early in the 2016 season.
And so while it’s not clear if the compensatory pick value would transfer to the Patriots and put one of the Patriots two projected fourth round compensatory picks in jeopardy, New England definitely didn’t want to take any risks.

Not a Spartan, but DeShaun Watson tore his ACL in practice today. Tough break for that team, kid was looking like an All Pro.

How many long snappers are the Pack going to burn through this season, five?

According to Collinsworth, the Titans told them in their scouting report on Le'Veon, where they list strengths and weaknesses, under 'strengths', they had 'He has no weaknesses'.

I have ESPN on one of my side TVs and they're showing a presser of some black dude (no glasses) after the Chargers game named Anthony Lynn. I googled him. Raise your hand if you knew Anthony Lynn was the HC of the Chargers. I've never heard of this dude in any capacity let alone thought he was a HC of an NFL team. Wow, I'm out of touch.

Dude, I heard Los Angeles Chargers on the radio the other day, and never knew about the move. I pay virtually no attention to the NFL beyond checking former MSU player stats.

LA has proven it won't support one pro football team, and now there are two. It's mind bottling.

Spotted at the AZ/Skins game in DC. Gotta be 2 alums. Ronde Barber thought so, as well. Announcers got a good laugh out of it.

Cool story about Lippett. Y'all think if this was Jourdan Lewis the headline might read a little differently?

Darqueze just picked Flacco for a 6.
Great run back to score. Baltimore's playoff chances are dimming quickly.

I forgot we're talking about the Bungles, only a one score game and Marvin Lewis and the Pink Pistol are as good at blowing a lead as anyone.

Re: Spartans in the NFL
Trae had a day
PFF Game Ball:
CB Trae Waynes, 87.0 overall grade
Waynes’ coverage numbers took a bit of a slide from halftime but still posted another impressive display to cap off a breakout season in his third year. At halftime Waynes had allowed zero catches on three targets with a pair of pass defenses. By the end of the game he’d allowed 3 catches for 52 yards, but his performance was still overwhelmingly positive, largely erasing the Bears’ passing game in his direction whenever they tried to come out of their conservative shell.

Although they went undrafted, former Michigan State players Gerald Holmes (Colts) and Demetrius Cooper (Raiders) will get a look from NFL teams. Cooper said he will be at Oakland's rookie minicamp tomorrow.
