Re: Harris Vs. Trump 2024. The battle to save America. Lets do this.
So that’s where Democrats stand a few days before the election: Trump is worse than ever and Harris will just have to do. The anxiety of the past few weeks in liberal circles doesn’t feel like a response to the polls, which haven’t changed in any significant way, but, rather, to the realization that Harris just isn’t the candidate we thought she might be just a few months back. It’s fine for everyone to just admit that Harris doesn’t represent anything other than four more years without Trump. Even her own unofficial campaign slogan—“We’re Not Going Back”—admits as much.
[...] What seems far more likely is that a second Trump Presidency would lead to unprecedented theft from public programs like Social Security and Medicare, the full ascendancy of tech and Wall Street oligarchies, and a further dissolution of the public’s faith in the government. The first few months would be a horror show of immigrant families being torn apart and deported. These actions would be opposed on city streets and in the homes of millions of Americans of conscience, but would likely not register at all with the Democratic Party, who’d be busy tacking right for 2028.
[...] I worry what might happen the next time around if the threats are harder to detect, or if the opponent is, at the very least, more competent than Trump. What will this version of the Democratic Party deliver to those same loyal voters when Trump is no longer on the other side of the ballot? This uncertain future is why it’s important to be as honest as we can about Harris being a pretty bad candidate. These voters deserve an actual vision for this country that goes beyond simply pointing out that the other guy is much worse. In this case, Harris is correct: Trump will rob this country blind but let’s just be honest about what we’re voting for—not Trump.

the mainstream media will never hold a republican/libertarian to the same standard that they hold a Democrat to. When you consider the mainstream media bias, Russian interference, the stupidity and gullibility of the average American, etc., it's actually amazing that the race is as close as it is.

I don’t know, looking at Vegas, odds, more money is still being that that Trump wins than Harris wins
Read an interesting article by a political data guy who put down $10K on KH to win. His claim was that Polymarket specifically had it's ratio skewed by a French billionaire who dumped $30m on Trump. He also cited the gender gap in the early voting, the collapse of the GOP field operation, and Trump's MSG rally/the fallout in the PR community. Based on current odds, he'll make $27K if he wins.

This should be put on a national TV ad and run 1000x until Tuesday, DWags. But I doubt the Harris campaign will. Trump immediately responded to the garbage comment from Biden by arriving in a garbage truck. Why won’t Dems fight back?DWags wrote:Left without comment.

It doesn't play well with the voters they are trying to attract. Hog wrassling is not where they want to be, unless it changes votes.

Because the Dems are a professional organization and won’t take a shit without reviewing 3 different polls, whereas the Reps fly by the seat of Trump’s pants.

Trump campaign is confident a significant majority of 55+ MAGA voters they need and may be offended have already voted.
This outrageous behavior Trump being Trump meant to get the 18-25 year old males to vote next Tuesday.

Not what I meant. I was talking about what the Dems are doing.
The over 65 voters are voting for Harris thus far this cycle.

Maybe, probably. I am starting, well not starting. I am continuing to see signs that I believe are pointing to a race that isn't going to be close. He isn't going to have a leg to stand on if he loses all of the swing states. The smarter, fairer gender among us are going to put this asshole to bed.

Hmmm
Kamala Harris now leads Donald Trump in Iowa — a startling reversal for Democrats and Republicans who have all but written off the state’s presidential contest as a certain Trump victory.

This is a highly thought of pollster, she has been on target in 6 of the last 7 elections in Iowa, she missed in 2018...
Blue Wave looking more likely.

Re: Harris Vs. Trump 2024. The battle to save America. Lets do this.
Iowa Poll wrote:The poll shows that women — particularly those who are older or who are politically independent — are driving the late shift toward Harris.
“Age and gender are the two most dynamic factors that are explaining these numbers,” Selzer said.
Independent voters, who had consistently supported Trump in the leadup to this election, now break for Harris. That’s driven by the strength of independent women, who back Harris by a 28-point margin, while independent men support Trump, but by a smaller margin.
Similarly, senior voters who are 65 and older favor Harris. But senior women support her by a more than 2-to-1 margin, 63% to 28%, while senior men favor her by just 2 percentage points, 47% to 45%.
“I like her policies on reproductive health and having women choosing their own health care, and the fact that I think that she will save our democracy and follow the rule of law,” said Linda Marshall, a 79-year-old poll respondent from Cascade who has already cast her absentee ballot for Harris.
If this is even close to correct the Harris campaign strategy is making huge inroads on the Trump voters.

So she did that and dropped it in one of the absentee boxes. I'm considering doing the same just to avoid having to do it on Tuesday. I trust our City government but I'm still on edge about making sure our votes get counted properly. Does this raise any flags to anyone?
No flags here.
Despite all the Trump malarky about elections being stolen our systems are very secure. I have way more concern about the mail not delivering than about a ballot being handed to a clerk not being counted.
You do know you can track your ballot online to make sure the clerk has it?

I told her that I always vote in person on Election Day.. and she said in this motherly fashion "well, they're calling for rain and there may be lines.. you can vote early".. and I literally said "ma'am, I honestly don't have anything else to do.. I don't mind standing in line".. I thanked her for what she was doing, working to get out the vote while I was laying on couch watching football.
I do admire those folks - I do a lot of things, I believe, to help and support people but I've always been reluctant to knock on doors for political causes, even if it's just the good guys making sure that all the good guys get out to vote.

The Harris GOTV organization in action. Tracking every voter, even Bob.
edit - 41% of Michigan has voted ... but what is really crazy is that out of 4.9 million voters in the 2020 election in Georgia over 4 million have already voted.

That's crazy, 4 million of 4.9million already voted. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or if the rural trumpers are getting on board with early voting. Doesn't seem possible that there's a whole lot more Democrat votes than what we saw in 2020 but hopefully i'm wrong. Winning georgia again would assuage a lot of fears by taking out a lot of avenues for a trump win.

I think Georgia has had about 3 weeks or so of early voting. Basically you can go any day. At least where I’m at. No idea if that benefits one candidate or the other.

Voted. Easy peasy. Did not take the extra effort to leave the MSU BOT blank.. When I was walking in a guy in a MSU pullover told me the line was over 2 hours. If I had known it was going to be as easy as it was to fill out the absentee, I would have told him.

Getting out the minority voters is an issue in Georgia, like most southern states. For any number of reasons they don't vote.
