Cassius Peat is transferring

Redshirt freshman Cassius Peat will transfer from Michigan State, the school announced. The defensive end from Arizona didn't play last year and hasn't been participating in practice this month.

Either that or he is just converting to Islam and changing his name to Muhammad Abdul.

Redshirt freshman defensive lineman Cassius Peat has gone from "in flux" to out of the program.

Peat has been granted his release to transfer from Michigan State, the school announced on Wednesday morning. The announcement came soon after a report that Peat had enrolled at an Arizona junior college.

Spartans coach Mark Dantonio said last week that Peat's status was "in flux" and that the program was "giving him an opportunity to work on his academics and get himself in order."

Peat did not report for fall camp, but Dantonio said as of last week that he had remained on the roster and on scholarship.

so it sounds like Peat and his relationship with the coaching staff decomposed as the summer progressed.

Murphy was a bit late, the news was in our football thread an hour before he had it.

Was it grades? Why do we even make these guys take regular classes? It's a joke. The NCAA has let college athletics become professional. We accept 17 A.C.T scores and expect them to do well in class and practice 40 hours a week? It's laughable.

I think you're referring to the SEC. Our scholar-athletes are scholars first, contributing members to the community second.. and athletes third.

Dwags they are like spoon fed with tutors and resources. No excuse for not being able to hold a fucking 2.0 GPA or whatever.

I read elsewhere grades did not end up being an issue. He never returned from summer vacation. Was taking online courses over the summer and passed all of them.

Honestly, never really heard of a Cassius Peat.

Our DL class is loaded this year, not worried about DL for years to come. Just land DIB this year to add to it.

I don't think Michigan ever took JC kids under Bo.
