Good News for MSU Athletics

Per my inside sources that report exclusively to me and me only because I'm special and I did NOT read this on another board.....sounds like Dan Gilbert is ponying up for a huge donation to MSU Athletics today. Announcement taking place some time today in the D.

This is what my special friend on the inside told me and only me: "Gilbert will be making a significant contribution to MSU that will benefit Athletics and the University. Izzo, Hollis and a few Trustees going to be at announcement."

Is he buying us some wins?

So he's buying the naming rights to Breslin, which explains why Dantonio won't be there. Football doesn't benefit.

Mark Hollis once rode his jet ski over to Dan Gilbert's house up north to say hi. Casually brought up maybe giving a major gift to MSU.

He mentions that Gilbert owns an NBA team, but misses reminding readers that 2 MSU Grads own NBA teams.  I wonder how many other schools can say that?   I'm not counting Magic because I think he sold his Lakers stake when he got involved with the Dodgers.
