Nigel is full of shit - no one has ever known what this "unequivocal difference" is. Apparently people want it to mean beating Oklahoma vs losing to Pitt in September rather than losing the head to head while also sitting at home and watching the team you lost to win the championship.

Got to look at the bigger picture.

By creating a controversy that isn't there(including 2 loss umaa because of style points in both losses) the media, especially ESPN, who currently holds the broadcast rights for the playoff justifies expansion to 8 teams.

I think we may see it as soon as 2018 and scheduling the final one week later.

An 8 team playoff placates each of the Power Five with 7 spots and will include one of the next 5 conferences schools. This year it that would be WMU.

Of course the committee could seed that team at #8 and be out after week 1.

Let me be perfectly clear. I don't care about eye tests. Rewrite the bylaws that stipulate the "best" four teams are selected. Conference champs only. Fuck the committee. Fuck subjectivity. You want in? Win your conference. I don't even care about unbalanced conference schedules. Fix that over time by not scheduling more than two years in advance and develop weighted schedules based on recent results.

But you can't really count ped state v Ohio state head to head late in the season because you know.

Then obviously scum beat the pedos early in the season and so scum is also clearly better
