Lack of parity.

I might say that. The whole season isn't ruined based on one single game. My experience in 2015 wasn't that a game against Rutgers that is close is fun. It's stressful. It's not fun.Floyd Robertson wrote:Other Teams Pursuing That wrote:Can't pin point the reason but I may be over college football.
If you don't know why then we can't help you. I just hope you're not going to say the NFL is more fun than college.

Everything surrounding the game is more fun in college. The game itself is better in the NFL.

We lost to Nebraska though.
If you don't think 2015 was a fun season, I can't help you nor pinpoint why.

I thought 2013 was a lot more fun. Expectations probably. I don't know. I think a sport where one game, or two, can ruin a season is fundamentally flawed. Assuming we're not taking the championship game of course.NigelUno wrote:Travis of the Cosmos wrote:

Travis, do you think 2015 kinda fell flat because MSU didn't go 12-0? My expectations were getting pretty high when they were 8-0 before the Nebby loss. Still a great season regardless of the poor ending.

Nothing more fun than watching two well coached high school wing T teams play. It's all relative.

No. The playoff was the goal and they made it. I don't know man. I don't have the words. But something about the playoff has somehow made the whole thing less fun. Maybe not. Maybe it's just because we suck now (maybe) and me and otpt are projecting. I don't know.Death Roe wrote:Travis, do you think 2015 kinda fell flat because MSU didn't go 12-0? 2015 was pretty emotionally draining. That team put you on a roller coaster. Michigan OSU Iowa Oregon. The Nebraska loss was draining too.
I'm all in for all home games this year and next. Then I'm retiring. Going to one or two a year and enjoying saturdays from my couch. This shit is tiring.

It was for me...which is why I think a lot of people are kind of worn out. We (sort of) reached the pinnacle and then just nosedived. We don't know what we are anymore. Can we get back?

How many of those Florida suspensions were on offense? Is that why Florida sucks hard?

Florida's offense has struggled for awhile. Obviously it didn't help having guys out. Michigan's D looked pretty good, as did Speight other than the picks.

Nah- football in general I think has lost my interest. The culture around it is odd. Maybe it's the peaked thing like trav said.

So you're saying when they interview NFL players and they say they'd rather suffer a head injury than a knee injury, you find that odd?
Yeah, I'm glad I had girls who just cheer for those guys. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't let my sons play, or at least I wouldn't encourage them.

If you're watching the Bama game they just alluded to what's wrong with college football. "Alabama's bottomless personnel resources," "the hidden arms race in college football," etc.

It's because the games suck. most games are over by the 2nd quarter and the teams schedule pussy soft schedules.

The only way to fix that is to stop the obsession with "national champion." Honestly who even gave a shit who won the big ten last year? It didn't matter. If teams regional championships actually meant something then there is something to fight for beyond being undefeated and trying to beat Alabama.steveschneider wrote:Other Teams Pursuing That wrote:Can't pin point the reason but I may be over college football.

Diluting the conferences did it for me. adding Rutgers and Maryland and scheduling terrible non conference games blew it. Then to your point making Alabama some kind of perrenial juggernaut adds to the stupidity.

Texas is back!
The offense was out there running plays.
The defense played. I saw them.
Special teams were there, too!
