I think I mentioned this around here at some point but I recently joined a Facebook group for people who are super serious about being flat earthers. It is amazing, the people are fucking nuts and really are certain that we live in a huge dome on top of a turtle.

Lots of memes btw. Almost entirely memes. That's how they shape their world view.

i have friends on both sides of the fence that are annoying the fuck out of me. One side is hoping that they kick football players off of a team for kneeling....as if that's practical, these players are on contract and the team could lose games if they did that. On the other side you see these social justice warriors talking about free speech for the anthem protesters but just a week ago I saw these fuckers trying to shut down kid rocks concert at little Caesars arena. They are all idiots.

Not sure Steve. At least not for a longtime. And with the number of social media options today maybe ever. I would hold off. I think it will go lower than 175 and stay there for a long time. This privacy stuff is a big deal, and not just a temporary downturn in active users. There seems to be a real backlash against FB this time that might take a generation or two to turn around.

I could see FB going the way of MySpace.

Yeah, I’m watching. One thing Goldman Sachs was forecasting a big 2019 for fb. That says something right there. Honestly though I hope you are right. I started this thread and haven’t returned to fb in a long time. I typically log in once every three months to check the inbox.

Facebook is shedding massive traffic – and it’s apparently flocking to YouTube

Four billion. That, according to a new study shared with CNBC by market research firm SimilarWeb, is how many monthly page visits Facebook has shed in a slow-drip but nevertheless huge decline over the last two years.

Facebook’s traffic hasn’t just fallen by about half since 2016, according to the study. Among the consequences of such a precipitous drop is the opening it’s given to YouTube, which the study’s data shows is about to overtake Facebook to become the second biggest site, traffic-wise, in the U.S. Which would give Google ownership of the top two spots, pushing Facebook down to number three.

CNBC describes the drop at Facebook as “severe” and goes on to round out its list this way: “The five websites receiving the most traffic in the U.S. in the last several years have been Google, Facebook, YouTube, Yahoo and Amazon, in that order. However, Facebook has seen a severe decline in monthly page visits, from 8.5 billion to 4.7 billion in the last two years, according to the study. Although Facebook’s app traffic has grown, it is not enough to make up for that loss, the study said.”

There’s a good chance they have it. I’ve seen the shit for e businesses use to micro target their specific audience. House hold income, level of education, kids, and so on. I miss being off meds. But being put on a schizophrenics dose of antipsychotics gives you a unique perspective that shows you what you’re like before meds v. after meds. I’ve been in mental hospitals and I’ve seen the lowest caste of society. I’m fortunate enough to have a psychiatrist that’s weening me off my meds and I’m noticing a difference between being sedated and being more aware.

Most people have short memories. They’ll remember who you are the last time they saw you or 2 weeks ago. Only a few highly intelligent members of my family (and I do have intelligent members of my family) noticed a difference and that there was something going on with me. I’ve lost a lot of friends who either weren’t empathetic of my illness when I told them or I didn’t tell them and all of a sudden I became boring to them.

If I ever do I get off my meds I will either come out of this angry or more empathetic.
