Bump when Al Franken un-resigns

I think he should resign after a full hearing including having his accusers testify under oath.

Don't care which party, a bad precident to let accusers make statements and politicians leave without a hearing.

There is a simple solution. Require Congress to add a full day per week for every week they are in session. Then the "There's no time" excuse goes away.
Right now its often fly in Monday AM for a possible Monday PM session and fly out Thursday to be home with constituents which is often donors.

What I don't want is a bum's rush for resignations based on accusations only.

In Franken's case he waits, gets the hearing and then resigns so MN isn't left with one US Senator.

What why

If he admits it then I don’t think congress should go all Benghazi and waste money on hearings. And his successor has already been named so I wouldn’t worry about that

He didn't admit to all of them, he apologized, which is stupid if you didn't do it.

I'm with GRR in this case. People need to be able to face their accusers. If we initially believe the woman (which we should), the burden of proof should be on the accused and preponderance of evidence should be enough to punish someone in a sexual misconduct case, but they should still have a chance to defend themselves. In my opinion.

And yes I include Roy Moore and the president in this. But corroborating stories and multiple accusers is a lot of evidence.

I mean.... he also, you know, resigned. So there’s that part too. I’m sure if it was all just flat out false there would be an avenue for him to do that.

Fly the accusers into DC and have them testify in closed session just like Trumps kids and son-in-law.

Pay their airfare, some per diem money and put them up at a DC hotel where out of town staffers stay. Fly in, overnight, testify, fly home.

Because what we’re learning is it pays to deny. Franken has owned up to some and has different recollections of others. Let them testify under oath, hear the accused recalled version and then a lot less Salem Witch trial.

Why

Franken is gone. No reason to back out now. But the zeal with which the party jumped on his ass so that they could be sparkling clean when they tried to bludgeon the Republicans as the party of sexual predators was gross. And it’s not going to work because the Republican base doesn’t give a shit about sexual misconduct.
