Let's see. The mom goes crazy and takes some fucked up diet pills to get skinny because she thinks she's getting on a game show. I think she gets institutionalized. Her kid is a heroin addict and loses an arm because he doesn't give a fuck about using clean needles.

Then there's Jennifer Connely, also addicted to heroin. She whores herself out to pay for it. At the end of the movie, to get a big score she goes to this house where she performs some girl on girl double donger action in front of a bunch of guys. Just a really fucking depressing movie how these people's lives slowly get ruined.
