I used to think about this a lot (especially back when I lived in the midwest because escape would be so much harder with the large populations and relative lack of topography).  

It's kind of a fun intellectual exercise to think about what you would do if X happened.  Maybe I'm too lazy to collect supplies, or maybe there's just not enough of a feeling in me that I'll ever need them, but I still think it's fun.  

I also think about buying a piece of property up in the mountains and building a log cabin and living with no electricity and how I might go about that.  

I have a lot of time on my hands.

You would think if these people put their brain power to good instead of evil maybe some of the things that will bring on the end of days could be averted. (global warming, antibiotic resistance, etc.) Also, the aliens are gunna fk us up before we have time to collect the plastic bottles or go hungry. So it's all irrelevant really.

but, my lord.. I don't need a bunch of esoteric pseudo-intellectuals warning me of things most of us who just want to hang out, enjoy our families, friends.. drink beer, work out.. spend time in nature, read books, listen to music, etc., otherwise would never consider.
