Re: 2017/18 NBA Season Thread
Agree with both otpt and wbh. Every series I’ve seen where the Cavs are rolling the Cavs are knocking down the wide open shots James is creating for them. James is also an incredible passer and is getting the ball to the players. I forget what game it was against the celtics but he would have easily had a triple double if his teammates weren’t bricking the open looks. He finished with 9 assists but would have easily had17 if the players around hind didn’t suck so bad that night.

Re: 2017/18 NBA Season Thread
Lol, standing at the arc, getting an open look because James get doubled, isn't making you a better player.
All you have to do is watch the video of game one after regulation to see what kind of teammate and leader James is. Watch after a foul is committed against a cavalier. A majority of times players are giving the fouled player "five", except James.

I would argue it is. It’s creating a higher % shot that wouldn’t happen without his play.

That's pretty much the definition of making players around you better isn't it? Drawing attention to yourself and putting them in a position where there is a high probability of success?
Or did you think it was just some kind of mystical quality like pixie dust that emanated from the great players' ears?

Heh. I’m incredibly biased because I was a die hard pistons fan and hated the bulls. Also, if you scroll back a few pages I outline why I believe the current nba is better than the 80s 90s. If we get a magic time machine and you put the warriors on it I think they destroy that bulls team with today’s rules or the rules of the 80s.

Granted I don't hardly follow the NBA now so I'm a bit biased to those 90's teams, but when the Bulls were in their prime no one could come close to beating them in a 7 game series.

What do you do with Steve Kerr? Is he playing on the team or is he coaching to Warriors? These things need to be answered Steve!steveschneider wrote:Heh. Yeah, they were unreal. I was such a pistons fan though and the bulls were on a UofM level for me in terms of hating them. It was worse though because unlike UofM they were actually good at winning titles.

Didn't you get over it at some point though Steve? I loathed them too, loved the walk off at the time, etc. But as the Pistons became irrelevant and it became such a given that no one was beating the bulls as long as Jordan was around, I definitely list the passion for my hatred. By the time his second retirement rolled around I was already respecting the legend.

Best teams I ever saw:
83 Sixers
85 Lakers
86 Celtics
96 Bulls
18 Warriors
Just picked the best of the dynasties and that Fo-Fo-Fo Sixers team. The Shaq/Kobe Lakers, Hakeem Rockets, Wade/James Heat and Bad Boys were all damn good too. Hard to place those Spurs teams

I did. When they had Rodman I started to come around. Was finally able to appreciate Pippen when he was in Portland.
Regarding the walk off the floor I loved it in the Pistons 30/30 when Laimbeer was like yeah it was my idea. I did it. Haha.

Re: 2017/18 NBA Season Thread
So who wins tonight?
I think it's essentially a repeat of Game 3. Cavs build early lead and Warriors slowly climb back in and steal it at the end.
Curry really can't have a game as bad as Wednesday night.

It'll be an interesting game. Obviously James is gone next year. If they get down I'll be watching to see if they mail it in.

The 1998 Pacers team that lead late in Game 7 of Eastern Conference Finals disagrees.

Looking forward to the draft and the Lebron FA drama. I can see Lebron going to LA, Philly or Miami. My pick is LA. He has a house there, they have the emerging team and that town is perfect for a drama queen like him.
