So Shri Thanedar
I don't know much about his politics (other than the fact that he's a Democrat) but from the commercials I've seen the guy seems pretty funny and down to Earth. Almost seems like a breath of fresh air from the constant vitriol coming from both sides at the national level. Does this guy have a chance? I kind of like him.

Something about animal testing. People don't like animal testing. Not real sure though.

Check out the Gretchen Whitmer thread. He's got some skeletons.

Re: So Shri Thanedar
Whitmer is polling around 40%, Thanedhar and Abdul are both hovering around 17-19% each.
(if you trust the polls).
Whitmer will have the best chance at beating Schuette in November. In fact, his special interest groups are already running attack ads against her.
Oh and he (Schuette) is big pals with the racist, bigoted sexual predator.
I think Shri and Abdul are splitting the more progressive vote. Whitmer is quite moderate.

I don't think Abdul can win which is too bad. I'm really skeptical that once Whitmer is on the ticket voters are going to shy away from her because they will associate her with Granholm and to a lesser extent Hilary.

Just read the thread. Didn't know about all the animal stuff which is obviously appalling if true. I guess I'll have to do some more research. His commercials are funny though.

I’m gonna go ahead and stop you riiiiight about.... hold on wait for it... here.
He’s another opportunistic rich man who thinks he can buy a seat. He’s not a democrat. He sees an opportunity and will say and spend what ever is necessary to capitalize on that. Fuck him. He’s democratic trump on a smaller scale. Everything he says is bullshit.

If MI had a Democrat Governor running for re-election and Thanadar saw an opening in the Republican field he’d be in the GOP primary

100% correct. You vote for Abdul or Whitmer and I have no beef with you. You vote for this fucking clown because of his ads then I’m going to fight you:

I'm really torn about this upcoming election. I don't agree with much of what El-Sayed says, policy-wise, but he seems genuine and sharp (as opposed to the gargoyle President + his supporters we have right now).
Strong believer in "if you don't vote, you can't complain" .. but I might just abstain rather than have to choose between helping trump and voting for a likable person that I don't agree with

Ok, what I'm about to post is really dumb, but that's not going to stop me from airing my petty El-Sayed grievance.
It's the white guy at :09 in this commercial clasping/wringing his hands in front of his face like El-Sayed is the last best hope for Michigan governor ever. That doesn't exactly seem genuine, and I'm not even sure how that didn't cut during focus group testing.

Interesting viewpoint. I observed some of the same parallels. We are voting for Abdul but will certainly back Whitmer if she gets the nomination.

Whitmer is polling pretty well against the immoral, unethical Schuette. I've seen her consistently up 4-8 points.WhiteBoyHatcher wrote:Interesting viewpoint. I observed some of the same parallels. We are voting for Abdul but will certainly back Whitmer if she gets the nomination.

Of course, one has to have faith in polling to believe the polling data.

I've made 'statements' with my vote in the past and did write ins or voted for some candidate that had no chance of winning.
Those statements I made did absolutely nothing. It's a binary choice and I'd say don't let purism get in the way of making one. Life is full of imperfect decisions. IMO this country desperately needs some balance and checks and I will be voting straight ticket dem.

The only thing I know for sure right now is Schutte is the WORST kind of politician (and person)....
Currently running on misogyny and hatred. All while having criminal investigations into his shadey bullshit. Fuck him sideways.
I also know 45% of Michiganders are too stupid to see any of this.

I've never voted straight ticket for either party. I will be this year. Straight dem right down to dog catcher. If we don't get back to checks and balances this election we are in deep trouble with this asshole in the oval office.

I wonder if Shri spent more than Dick DeVos, only to be dealt a losing hand.
