How about, we stay in the treaty, and apply our massive economic advantage to beat them down, and force them to renegotiate the treaty to account for modern technologies, while simultaneously writing in provisions that exclude any activities related to China?

No wait. A better idea would be to just trash the whole thing (widely regarded as one of the best treaties of all time at dangerous arms reduction) so that Russia can start amassing short range missiles at the European border.
