I like Rocky too. Tough kid with a promising future but he needs to learn not to stare down receivers. A little coaching would sure help.

Here’s what bummed me out last night. Michigan and OSU were clearly better than us. Be it reasons of injuries or youth but it would have taken a huge effort to win.

The other three, we didn’t have the nuts or staff or will or preparation to win. We win two of those three we’re looking at 9 wins and a whole different feel. So, I don’t know. Something has to change. But we never found those inches vs Nebraska asu or northwestern.

I would not flag Lombardi as  "inaccurate" quite yet.  Yesterday was an outlier due to the wind and cold (Lombardi was more accurate than Martinez yesterday).  I would say, based on limited data, he seems about average.

I am not sure what you mean "for the year."  There is one game left. If you are saying Lombardi should start against Rutgers, I agree.  If that includes the bowl game, I probably disagree.

As the old saying goes "if you have two starting QB's, you really don't have any."  I believe that.  I also believe what makes a player improve most is true competition for a starting job.

I like where we are at.  This year is lost, I understand that.  But the flip side is that we have two very tough and talented kids who will be competing for the QB job.  Let the chips fall where they may, but I bet next fall we have two QB's that have improved greatly.  Dantonio just needs to decide who is better.

I think Dantonio should probably have said a few games ago we're shutting BL down for the rest of the regular season and will re-evaluate come the bowl game rather than play flippy floppy. But he's Coach D and I'm an idiot on a message board.

Thinking back, BL is said to have hurt himself in the PSU game right? I think that's bunk. He was terribly inaccurate before that. In the IU game something like 7 of his first 8 passes were off pretty off target. It was either earlier that he hurt himself or it's mental.

I agree 100% - I am not sure when he was injured, but it was well before PSU.

I am also curious as to how forthcoming Lewerke has been about the injury. Everyone likes to blame Dantonio, but he has about as much of an idea of how Lewerke's shoulder actually feels as we do. Lewerke is one tough kid, few people understand how tough he is because he does not look the part. I would be willing to bet the only reason Dantonio knew he was injured were the accuracy issues.
