I have to say when he was there the first time the energy in Manhattan was so palpable. The Empire State Building would light up scarlet and sports bars would be loaded with Rutgers fans. There’s a lot of talent in this area and If anyone can turn it around he’s probably their best shot.
So a guy who has turned around a program can do it again?
Let’s fire Dantonio.

I didn’t read the Beekman thing yet but if he believes in Dantonio he should also be about giving him what he needs to turnaround. Better coordinators.

Damnit. I wish he’d head west and recruit out there instead of the upper Midwest.

20-13. Minnesota has all the momentum. Have the ball inside the Iowa 20. 4th and 4 they go for it. Miss but the Minnesota receiver is roughed. Automatic first down. Personal foul Iowa. But Fleck fucking runs out on the field forty yards and gets in the scrum. He picks up the unsportsmanlike penalty and both are dead ball so Iowa gets ball on downs. Had Fleck stayed on the sideline gophers have the ball going in first and goal. after being down 20-3 and driving three times in a row.
Here is where that “enthusiasm “ is haywire. Why insert yourself in a deal that was handled. A forty yard sprint? What coach would do that. Big mistake.

You don’t insert yourself in that from 40 yards away. That’s the point. What does that help?

I hope so but it was the beginning of the end for Bo Jackson. Same with Jalen Watts Jackson.

It’s been too long to remember how long after Herschel Walker’s hip problems that he had to quit playing. Old guys without dementia, help me out.
Edit: See what I mean? DWags is right; it was Bo Jackson.

Bad look maybe. Protecting his players from doing something stupid. Maybe Freddie kitchens should take note. Weak call imo

Another reason Urban will be coaching there next fall.
Rumors are swirling the FSU is interested in ND's Brian Kelly.
Kelly leaves ND resurrect FSU
Meyer leaves FoxSports to win a National Championship at a 3rd school.

Yeah, I listened to the couch and the rube podcast. I don't know what the opinion is of Graham Couch, I think he's actually pretty damn good and we are lucky to have him covering MSU. He had on the Rutgers beat writer. He thinks its a great hire. I guess he knows New Jersey and that it's an unusual state where there's a huge divide and he was able to unite the state. Also, Couch missed the mark about the big apple not caring about Rutgers. When Schiano had that team rolling it was a big fucking deal and you could feel the enthusiasm in the city. I don't have the link anymore but at the time I recall reading an article about how Rutgers was most viewed cfb football team in the big apple beating Penn State, Notre Dame and Michigan. So yeah, if some one there can ever get their shit together Rutgers could do pretty good. Some good talent int he area and I could see their fortunes turning quicker if they became competitive.

Flipping through the channels trying to decide what to watch. Three things caught my eye: Those Baylor uniforms are way worse than our neons. Way worse. 2) The VaTech field is embarrassingly dead. It’s all brown. 3) Fuck michigan.
