Hill already had a DV case before he even got there.  Pretty bad one too.  He dropped a lot in the draft because of it.  Part of the reason why they couldn't keep Hunt around.  They didn't have any slack to give.  They also had the player that killed his wife and himself in the parking lot a couple years ago.

edit: probably should've read the article first which covers all that.
