My idiot brother in law

Had a great trip back to Michigan last week. I come back for a week every summer to go up north with that pervert WhiteBoyHatcher. He picks me up at the airport in Flint and within about an hour or two of catching up I explain to him that we flew my mother and brother in law in to help with the kids taking them to and from summer camp. They were using my car while I was out of town. I wish I had the time to tell all of the stories about these idiots but I said to WBH word for "I guarantee I come back to some type of damage to my car". Thursday I was getting notification after notification that there was someone tripping the cameras out by our garage. I am watching and very quickly knew what was going on. He ran my car into the garage. I looked at all of the videos and he cut too hard and basically scraped the whole driver side of my car. Watching the videos it was some of the worst driving I have ever seen. He backed up and made the angle much worse and then you hear the crunch on the cameras.

The question now becomes how do I deal with this in terms of insurance ? We are trying to find out if he even has any. If I call my insurance to tell them this idiot did it instead of me I assume they will tell me his insurance has to cover it. The problem is I will be without a car for a while and will need a rental. It can't be some $34 a day Kia Rio because I need to fit 2 car seats in the car for my kids. He is also a lazy pile of shit so getting him to contact his insurance is going to be a tough thing to get him to do. A normal person would have ran out to Home Depot and tried to at least paint the part of the garage that he stripped but he did nothing but get drunk the following night and yell at my wife when she suggested I had every right to be annoyed by this situation.

Tell the dumbass you’ll take cash, money order, PayPal, or Venmo.

Tell the story about the time we took him to the Pistons game.

Also didn't he steal drugs from his mom or some shit?

Turns out he is on his Moms insurance and they don't want to call their insurance because they just got a responsible drive discount. I am in Texas and they are in NY. We can talk about all the idiots in this thread. They have no money but are offering to pay us cash for the damages. What this will turn into is her siblings saying that cannot believe we took the cash from them knowing they don't have a lot of money and we will be the bad guys. Now my wife is leaning towards us just paying for it. They suck

Get an estimate for the actual damage, plus another one including a supercharger and full hydraulics.

I did not fully understand the magnitude of what happened to him until I read his post again. I now fully understand the physical and emotional toll this is taking on him, and I hope you are there for him. I wish we could have done more. We should have done more. We failed him, and for that we are sorry.

GB, sounds like you're screwed. Hopefully you can squeeze your deductible out of the in-laws and hold it over twife's head for eternity (or next bj) Don't you have a rental reimbursement rider on your insurance?

Finally had an ins agent explain to me I can raise the daily rate the insurance will cover so I won't get stuck with a 3 wheeled scooter on the basic plan.
