Seven dead since July. Possibly botulism or a rapid change in water temps. There were some dead gulls nearby, so those carcasses will be tested. The sturgeon remains were too decomposed to be tested.

I was unaware of the lake sturgeon bear. Must be super rare. If attacked are you supposed to fight it like you would a black bear, or play dead like a brown bear?

In your case, you should exhale enough so that you can slowly and quietly drop to the lake bottom, like a sturgeon.
