Who writes computer viruses?

Just downloaded a Java update onto my laptop and unknowingly installed a Trojan as well. I just got the hard drive replaced so I didn't think to have an antivirus installed (stupid, I know).

After fighting with this fucker for a few days, it finally trashed my boot sector and I have to take it to a pc repair shop now.

I know how they work, I see how it can make money for the asshole who designs them. Just want to know Who comes up with these and how can I find the dick that has so severely wasted my time?

My guess is that it's those kids living in moms basement that we make fun of. Revenge type thing.

Java's a bit notorious for security exploits, IIRC.

As for who writes them, my money's on Guest being the culprit.

Since installing Windows 8.1 I have had zero virus problems. Have not installed any anti-virus software.

Virus protection companies like McAfee and Norton.

Speaking of this topic....I need a new antivirus software installed bc my bitdefender is a POS. I have Windows 8. What's worth buying?

Why won't bit defender let you run a scan? Probably because you have other virus software installed & need to uninstall it first??

Nope, we don't have another one. I believe it stopped letting me scan because of a virus. I know there are several of them on the computer abd it won't scan anymore. Also, when it was working, it would take 4 days to completely scan the whole thing. Its gotten worse in time and it's only a year old. So I think I need a new antivirus program.

I'd recommend you use Malwarebytes (30 days free) to clean it up & get bit defender running properly again. Then be more careful with your pron surfing.

AVG is free and works fine.

There is a lot of $ to be made off idiots on the internet. A lot.
